11/24/58 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE EDINA <br />VILLAGE COUNCIL, HELD MONDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 1958, <br />AT 7:OO P0M.y AT THE EDINA VILLAGE HALL <br />29 <br />Members answering Rollcall were Bank, Dickson, Kohler, Tupa and Bredesen. <br />Lillie Berry acted as Clerk in the absence of Clerk Alden. Mrs. <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 10, 1958 were approved, by motion <br />Tupa, seconded by Bank, and carried. <br />OFFICE BUILDING DISTRICT AMENDMENT TO ZONING ORDINANCE ADOPTED, Office Building <br />District Amendment was presented for its second reading, first reading having <br />been had at the regular meeting of November 10. <br />the audience to the proposed amendment; and Bank offered the following Ordinance <br />for adoption, moving that Council waive second reading and adopt as offered: <br />There were no objections from <br />ORDINANCE NO. 261-37 <br />AN'ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE <br />VILLAGE OF EDINA BY MAKING PROVISION THEREIN FOR AN <br />OFFICE BUILDING DISTRICT, MAKING REGULATIONS FOR <br />SAID DISTRICT AND DEFINING ITS BOUNDARIES. <br />THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF EDINA, MINNESOTA. ORDAINS: <br />Section 1. The following sections of OrdinaAce No. 261 (Zoning <br />Ordinance) of the Village, as amended, are hereby renumbered as follows: <br />Section 9 (Special Permits) is renumbered Section 11; <br />Section 10 (Definitions) is renumbered Section 12; and <br />Section 11 (Administration) is renumbered Section 13. <br />Section 2. Section 2 of said Ordinance No. 261, as amended, is hereby <br />further amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 2. Districts Established. <br />"For the purposes of this ordinance, the Village shall be divided into the <br />following districts, and the uses of structures and lands, the height of buildings <br />and the area of premises for buildings are to be uniform in each district, except <br />as special use permits may be required under Section 10 of this ordinance and <br />special restrictions imposed thereby. <br />Open Development District (Section 3). <br />Multiple Residence District (Section 4). <br />Automobile Parking District (Section 5). <br />Community Store District (Section 6) , <br />Commercial District (Section 7) . <br />Regional Shopping District (Section 8). <br />Regional Medical District (Section 9). <br />Office Building District (Section 10). <br />The boundaries of said districts shall be as further provided herein. <br />shall be erected or premises used for any purpose unless in compliance with the <br />use, height, area and other regulations and restrictions prescribed for the district <br />in which such building or premises is located." <br />new Section 10, reading as follows: - <br />No building <br />Section 3. Said Ordinance No. 261 is hereby amended by adding thereto a <br />Section 10. <br />OFFICE BUILDING DISTRICT <br />1. Boundaries of Office Buildinq District. The boundaries of the Office <br />Building District shall include the following lands: <br />(Nothing Presently Zoned) <br />2. Specific Uses Permitted in District, The following uses are permitted, <br />if and when a building permit shall have been issued by the Building Inspector, and <br />no person shall erect, alter, enlarge, more, demolish, use, occupy or maintain any <br />building, structure, improvement or premises without first having obtained such <br />permit : <br />(a) <br />(b) <br />(c) <br />3. Use for Office Buildinqs; Restrictions Thereon. All property zoned as <br />All uses permitied in the Open Development District. <br />All uses permitted in the Multiple Residence District. <br />All uses permitted by the further provisions of this section. <br />Office Building District may be used for erection, maintenance and operation of an <br />office building or buildings, an office building being hereby defined as a building <br />in which no product is made, assembled, sold or stored on the premises, but the <br />following restrictions shall apply to all property so used: <br />(a) Lot Coveraqe. No more than 50 per cent of an office building lot may be <br />used for structures. <br />Off-street Parking. There shall be provided on the building lot or within <br />200 feet thereof, a minimum of one square foot of off-street parking space <br />for every one square foot of gross floor area. <br />Off-street Loadinq. <br />facility for an office building having a floor area of less than 20,000 <br />gross square feet and two off-street loading facilities for an office <br />building having a gross floor area of 20,000 sqaure feet or more. An <br />off-street loading facility not less than 10 feet wide, 25 feet <br />long, and if enclosed, 12 feet 9 inches high. <br />There shall be provided one off-street loading
