HEARING ON PETITION 'FOR IN~LUSION OF NO. 40i6 OFFICE <br />BUILDING IN STORM SEVER DISTRICT. <br />Office Building area in Storm Sewer Improvement No. 55 (Lateral No. 1 of Main <br />No. 3) v7as reviewed; and Tupa moved scheduling Public Hearing on petition for <br />the earliest possible date. <br />Petition for inclusion of the No. 4010 <br />Motion seconded by Beim and carried. <br />PARKING RESTRICTIONS ESTABLISHED FOR WOODDALE AVENUE AND FOR SOUTHVIEl-7 LANE. <br />Pursuant to advice by Engineer Zikan that the State will require formal action <br />by the Council to the effect that parking be restricted, Dickson offered the <br />following Resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br />THE VILLAGE OF EDINA AND COMMISSIONER OF HIGHWAYS, <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />WHEREAS; the Commissioner of Highways of the State of Minnesota has submitted <br />to the Village Council for execution, an agreement relating to restriction of <br />parking on those streets and avenues wherein Municipal 'State Aid funds are used <br />in improving said streets and avenues, <br />the Mayor and Village <br />and on behalf of and in the name of the Village of Edina an agreement between <br />the Village and the Commissioner of Highways wherein the Village agrees to <br />restrict parking to one side of each of the following streets: <br />NOH, BE IT RESOLVED; By the Village Council of the Village of Edina, that <br />Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute for <br />I <br />VOODDALE AVENUE between W. 50th Street and Tower Street; <br />SOUTH VIEW LANE between State Highway No. 100 and Concord Avenue. <br />Motion for adoption of the Resolution was seconded by VanValkenburg, and on <br />Rollcall there were five ayes and no nays, a <br />NO. 5400 XERUS AVENUE DISCUSSED. At a question from Trustee Tupa as to the <br />status of this place, Mr. Hite reported that owner Anderson has been informed <br />that use of the home as a double dwelling is illegal and one family must be <br />vacated; that matter is in hands of Village Attorney for his action. <br />TOWING CHARGE COMPLAINT REGISTERED. <br />the $6.50 towing charge made by Edina Pure Oil Company, €or a tow made at the <br />request of Edina Police. <br />towing had not been taken; that it has been usual to use Pure Oil €or this <br />service because they have the equipment and can give the service when requested. <br />He added that Police Chief will have a report for khe Mayor if it is so desired. <br />Mayor Bredesen read a letter complaining of <br />Manager Hyde told Council that formal bids on police <br />VOTING MACHINES TO BE PAID IN FULL, TO SAVE INTEREST CHARGES. Rockwell <br />Manafacturing Company's letter of intent to waive four months' interest at 425% <br />on Voting Machine Contract, providing payment is made in full on or before <br />November 1, v7as read; this letter's being an answer to an inquiry by Finance <br />Director Dalen. <br />offer, and Beim moved for payment in full of contract by November 1. Motion <br />seconded by Tupa and carried. <br />Mr. Dalen recommended the Village's taking advantage of this <br />The meeting's agenda's having been covered, Tupa moved for adjournment. <br />seconded by Dickson and carried. <br />Motion <br />Meethg adjourned at 9:15 P.M. <br />Village Clerk <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED PORTION OF THE JULY 14, <br />1960 MEETING OF THE EDINA BOARD OF REVIEIJ, HELD <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 1960 AT 9 :15 P.M., AT THE <br />EDINA VILLAGE HALL <br />Councilmen Beim, Dickson, Tupa, VanValkenburg and Bredesen acted as the Board of <br />Review; the August 3rd Adjourned Portion of the July 14th Meeting having been <br />postponed to this date. <br />Village Assessor Kearns presented completed Books of Valuation, showing valuations <br />to be as follows: <br />Total - $27,123,9 15. <br />Real Estate - $24,592,556; Personal Property - $2,531,359; <br />No complaings were registered, and none <br />and Dickson's motion approving Books of <br />Board nas seconded by Beim and carried. <br />had been received prior to the Meeting; <br />Valuation as presented and reviewed by <br />EQUALIZATION was discussed at some length, with the Council advocating action, <br />and a report by the Assessor as to ways and means of accomplishing. <br />Meeting adjourned by motion Beim, <br />Clerk
