1/20/64 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />EDINA VILLAGE COUNCIL , HELD PIONDAY , <br />JANUARY 20, 1964, AT 7:OO P.M., AT THE <br />EDINA VILLAGE HALL <br />I <br />Members answering Rollcall were MacNillan, Rixe , Tupa, VanValkenburg and Bredesen. <br />MINUTES of the Regular Heeting of January 6, 1964, were approved as submitted, by <br />Motion Tupa, seconded by VanValkenburg and carried. <br />SAYITARY SEWER AND WATERMAIN IMPROVEMENTS ORDERED AFTER PUBLIC HEARINGS. Clerk <br />presented Affidavit of Publication in Edina-Morningside Courier January 9 and 16, <br />1964, and of Mailing to owners of affected properties January 10, 1964, of "Notice <br />of Public Hearings on Proposed Sanitary Sewer and Watermain Improvements". Said <br />affidavits were approved as to form and ordered placed on file; and, pupsuant to <br />due notice given, public hearings were conducted, and action was taken as hereinafter <br />recorded on the following proposed improvements: <br />FROM SCH&FER ROAD TO PARKWOOD ROAD. <br />of improvement and area proposed to be assessed therefor. <br />Estimate of Cost as $20,531.28, including Blacktop Replacement, proposed to be <br />assessed against ten lots at $2,053.13 per Lot. <br />George Emrich, 5508 Knoll Drive,, and ordered placed on fi12 <br />were no objections egist tee red from the floor. Engineer I-fite/thg e or owner e of Lot 10, <br />Block 5, is in favor of the improvements; that the owner of Lot 11 will not oppose <br />them. Manager Hyde added that the residence 5520 Knoll Drive is badly in need of <br />the service, and that there is some evidence of sewage trouble at another residence <br />on the street. <br />LAKADA LANE TO KiiOLL DRIVE, KNOLL DRIVE FROM PAXKWOOD ROAD TO SCHAEFER ROAD, SCHAEFER <br />ROAD FKOM KNOLL DRIVE TO STAUDER CIRCLE. <br />proposed to be assessed against the same ten lots assessed for the foregoing Sanitary <br />Sewer Improvement, at $1,225.84 per Connection. <br />the floor, and Engineer Hite reported that owners of Lots 10 and 11, Block 5 have <br />the same opinions on this proposed improvement as on the foregoing Sanitary Sewer <br />Improvement. Mr. George Emich's written objection was read and noted. <br />Tupa offered the following Resolution and moved its adoption: <br />1. CONSTRUCTION OF VILLAGE WATERMAIN AND APPURTENANCES IN PARWOOD ROAD FROM <br />Estimated Cost was given as $12,258.40, <br />No objections were registered from <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING Lt4PROVEMENTS <br />SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT NO. 209: <br />WATERMAIN IMPROVEMENT NO. 177. <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Edina, Minnesota, that this Council <br />heretofore caused notice of hearings to be duly published and mailed to owners of <br />properties affected, on the following proposed improvements: <br />1. CONSTRUCTION OF VILLAGE SANITARY SEWER AND APPURTENAWES in <br />2. blOliSTRUCTION OF VILLAGE WATERMAIN AND APPURTENANCES IN THE FOLLOWING: <br />Knoll Drive from Schaefer Road to Parkwood Road. <br />Parkwood Road from Larada Lane to Knoll Drive, <br />Knoll Drive from Parkwood Road to Schaefer Road, <br />Schaefer Road from Knoll Drive to Stauder Circle <br />and at the hearings held at the time and place specified in said notice the Council <br />has duly considered the views of all persons interested, and being fully advised of <br />the pertinent facts does hereby determine to proceed with the construction of said <br />improvements; that said improvements are hereby designated and shall be referred <br />to in all subsequent proceedings as follows: <br />NAME OF IMPROVEMENT <br />No. 1 Above SANITARY SEWER II4PROVEMENT NO. 209 <br />No. 2 Above WATERMAIN IMPROVEMENT NO. 177 <br />and the area to be specially assessed therefor shall be as follows: <br />11, 12, Block 5, Parkwood Knolls Addition. <br />Lots 3 thru 7 inclusive, Block 4, Parkwood Knolls Addition, and Lots 1, 9, 10, <br />Motion for adoption of the Resolution was seconded by VanValkenburg, and on Rollcall <br />there were five ayes and no nays, as follows illan, aye; Rixe, aye; Tupa, aye; <br />COUNCIL DENIES C. K. KATTER PETITION FOR REZONING OF LOT 2, BLOCK 1, KATTER'S ADDN. <br />(6224 BEARD PLACE) FROM OPEN DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT TO R-2 XULTIPLE RESIDENCE DISTRICT. <br />Pursuant to Posted, Published and Mailed "Notice of Public Hearing", Mayor Bredesen <br />called Public Hearing on the petition of Mr. C. K. Katter for the-rezoning from Open <br />Development District to R-2 Multiple Residence District of Lot 2, Block 1, Katter's <br />Addition (6224 Beard Place). <br />recommendation for denial of petition, made in accordance with their policy of not <br />approving double bungalows on a site separated from the Crosstotsn Highway by service <br />road. <br />I4r.
