Mr. Luce recalled that <br />the vacation of a portion of Oxford Avenue and West 52nd Street had been <br />continued pending approval of the zoning request of Mr. Gary Johnson and of <br />the preliminary plat of Bedford Valley. <br />Councilman Johnson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />No objections were heard, whereupon <br />RESOLUTION VACATING A PORTION OF <br />OXFORD AVENUE AND WEST 52ND STREET <br />WHEREAS, two weeks' published, posted and mailed notice of a Hearing to be <br />held on October 18, 1971,- at 7:OO p.m. on the proposed street vacation herein- <br />after described has been given and made and a Hearing has been held thereon by <br />the Village Council: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Village Council of the Village of Edina, <br />Hennepin County, Minnesota, that the following described portions of 0;rford <br />Avenue and of West 52nd Street, all as platted and of record in the office of <br />the Register of Deeds in and for Hennepin County, Minnesota, be and is hereby <br />vacated: . <br />That part of Oxford Avenue as platted between Blocks 6 and 7, Brook- <br />side Heights, and lying North of the North lin'e of West 52nd Street and <br />South of the Vesterly extension of the South line of Lot 15, Block 7, <br />to the East line of Block 6, Brookside Heights;- and <br />ThaC part of Vest 52nd Street as platted in Brookside Heights Addition <br />lying between the Southerly extension of the West line of Bedford <br />Avenue and the Vest line of Brookside Heights Addition. <br />Motion for adoption of the resolution was seconded by Councilman VanValkenburg <br />and on rollcall there were five ayes and no nays and the vesolution was <br />adopted. <br />BEDFORD VALLEY GRANTED PRELIMINARY APPROVAL. <br />by Clerk, approved as-to form.and ordered placed on file. <br />that preliminary plat approval of Bedford Valley had been continued from October <br />4, 1971, pending approval of the zoning request and of the vacation of a portion <br />of Oxford Avenue and West 52nd Street. Johnson and pre- <br />sented at the meeting of the Edina Village Council on October 18, 1971, be and <br />is hereby granted preliminary agproval. <br />Motion for adoption 0% the resolution was seconded by Councilman Courtney and <br />on'rollcall there were five ayes and no nays and the resolution was adopted. <br />REPLAT OF LOTS 5 AND 6, EDINA INTERCHANGE CENTER DENIED. Affidavits of Notice <br />were presented by Clerk, approved as to form and ordered placed on file. <br />Luce recalled that preliminary plat approval for Replat of Lots 5 and 6, Block <br />6, Edina Interchange Center had been continued from October 4, 1971. <br />of the denial of the Standard Oil Company-zoning denial-earlier in this meeting, <br />Councilman Shaw's motion for denial of th-is plat was seconded by Councilman <br />VanValkenburg and carried. <br />Mr. <br />In view <br />.T.H.'100 AT W. 77TH STREET SIGNALIZATION DEFERRED. M;. Hyde called Council's <br />attention to a letter from the Minnesota-Department of Highways noting Council's <br />request for left turn arrow additions at the intersection of T.H. 100 and W. <br />77th Street. Because of the fact that the-interchange contract has been re- <br />programmed for letting in a November, 1971, detting, the Highway Department <br />intends to defer signal modifications pending construction of the interchange. <br />No action was taken. .
