MINUTES <br /> OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br /> EDINA CITY COUNCIL <br /> HELD AT CITY HALL <br /> JULY 5, 2006 <br /> 7:00 P.M. <br /> ROLLCALL Answering rollcall were Members Housh, Hulbert, Masica, and Mayor Hovland. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS APPROVED Motion made by Member Housh and seconded by <br /> Member Hulbert approving the Council Consent Agenda as presented with the exception of <br /> Agenda Item I. Approval of Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 20, 2006, for a correction <br /> and Agenda Item II.A.2, Conditional Use Permit, St. Patrick's Church, 6820 St. Patrick's Lane, <br /> and Agenda Item V.D. Amend Existing Emergency Preparedness Contract with Bloomington. <br /> Rollcall: <br /> Ayes: Housh, Hulbert, Masica, Hovland <br /> Motion carried. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2006-69 OF APPRECIATION ACCEPTING DAVID BYRON FAMILY <br /> DONATION Mayor Hovland welcomed and thanked the Byron family members for the <br /> contribution given in David's memory to the Edina Fire Department. He noted David's unselfish, <br /> dedicated service as a volunteer in the City of Edina and that the donations would be used by the <br /> Fire Department for the purchase of a thermal imaging camera. <br /> Mayor Hovland and the Council, in joint acclimation, introduced and moved adoption of the <br /> following Resolution of Appreciation: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2006-69 <br /> RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION <br /> Whereas, David Byron served his fellow citizens on the City of Edina's Planning <br /> Commission since his appointment in 1990 and was the Chair at the time of his death on <br /> February 14, 2006; and <br /> Whereas, David Byron gave generously of his time and talent to enhance the quality of <br /> life in Edina; and <br /> Whereas, David Byron's skill and intellect served to guide sound decisions on the use <br /> of land in Edina; and <br /> Whereas, the David Byron Family decided to dedicate all memorials in David's honor <br /> to the Edina Fire Department; and <br /> Whereas, the Edina Fire Department will use the David Byron Memorials to purchase a <br /> thermal imaging camera to reduce the prospect of death or injuries to victims of fires and <br /> firefighters. <br /> Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the Edina City Council does hereby express its <br /> appreciation on behalf of all Edina citizens to the <br /> DAVID BYRON FAMILY <br /> for his unselfish and dedicated service as a volunteer in the City of Edina and their generous <br /> gift to the Edina Fire Department of a thermal imaging camera; and <br /> Be It Further Resolved, that this resolution be entered in the minutes of the Edina City <br /> Council and that an appropriate copy be presented to his family. <br /> Adopted this 5th day of July 2006. <br /> Ayes: Housh, Hulbert, Masica, Hovland <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Page 1 <br />
