MINUTES <br /> OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br /> EDINA CITY COUNCIL <br /> HELD AT CITY HALL <br /> MARCH 6,2006 <br /> 7:00 P.M. <br /> ROLLCALL Answering rollcall were Members Housh, Hulbert, Masica, Swenson and Mayor <br /> Hovland. <br /> CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS APPROVED Motion made by Member Masica and <br /> seconded by Member Swenson approving the Council Consent Agenda as presented with <br /> the exception of Agenda Item I. Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting of February 21, <br /> 2006. <br /> Rollcall: <br /> Ayes: Housh, Hulbert, Masica, Swenson, Hovland <br /> Motion carried. <br /> MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF FEBRUARY 21, 2006, APPROVED AS <br /> AMENDED Member Hulbert removed the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 21, <br /> 2006, from the Consent Agenda for an amendment. Member Hulbert made a motion <br /> approving the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Edina City Council for February 7, <br /> 2006, as amended. Member Housh seconded the motion. <br /> Ayes: Housh, Hulbert, Masica, Swenson, Hovland <br /> Motion carried. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2006-26 - RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION - EDINA LIONS CLUB <br /> Mayor Hovland presented a Resolution of Appreciation to the Edina Lions Club for their <br /> benevolent donation of funding for a shade structure and water source for the YMCA Tri- <br /> City Skate Park. <br /> Member Housh made a motion to approve the Resolution of Appreciation to the Edina <br /> Lions Club as follows: <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2006-26 <br /> WHEREAS, the YMCA Tri-City Skate Park opened to rave reviews in October 2003 <br /> as a one-of-a-kind, all concrete, in-ground, continuous bowl skate park - the first in the <br /> Upper Midwest, and <br /> WHEREAS, the skate park is a partnership between the YMCA and the cities of <br /> Edina,Bloomington and Richfield, and <br /> WHEREAS in 2005, the Edina Lions Club donated $6,310.13 to purchase a shade <br /> structure that provides shade for the visitor spectators who sit on bleachers at the skate <br /> park, and <br /> WHEREAS, in 2005, the Edina Lions Club also donated $4,792.95 for the purchase <br /> and installation of a handicap-accessible outdoor drinking fountain for the skate park. <br /> The donation also included the installation of a one-inch copper water service line to <br /> operate the new drinking fountain and a future restroom facility. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Edina City Council, City staff and <br /> all Edina residents hereby express their thanks and appreciation to <br /> Page 1 <br />
