Minutes of the recessed portion of the <br />regular April 28, 194l meeting of the Council <br />of the Village of Edina, duly held in Grange <br />Hall on May 5, 19l+l., at 8:OO o'clock Po a, <br />The meeting was called to order by the President, the roll called and all <br />members of the Council were present, <br />Village Attorney Holten advised the Council that as requested he had con- <br />tacted several of the bond houses regarding purchase of Sewer District No. 8 <br />warrants, the impression being that unless an excessive rate of interest . <br />mere charged, that the proposed warrants were not desirable unless the full <br />faith and credit of the Village was pledged to secure same. <br />After study and discussion of the tabulated bids received for materials, <br />equipment rental and sewer trench excavation, it was moved Irgens that all <br />bids received, except those for sewer pipe, bends, Y's, and equipment rental, <br />be rejected and certified checks returned; seconded by Tiillson and carried. <br />Trustee Irgens offered the following resolution andmoved its adoption: <br />K <br />% <br />- RESOLUTION CAI;GING FOR AND DIRECTING NOTICE <br />FOR NEYJ BIDS - <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Edina as <br />follows : <br />Plans and specifications for a sanitary sever in Sewer District No. <br />8 of the Village, prepared by B. H. Bradley and filed in the office of the <br />Village Recorder on Harch %thy 190, having been approved and accepted and <br />proposal for bids for furnishing materials, rental of equipment and excava- <br />tion of trenches for said Server District having been received at a meeting of <br />sa5d Council on the 21st day of April, 190, pursuant to notice to bidders <br />duly published, and consideration of said bids having been deferred to this <br />meetipg,. held on Nay .%h, 194l., and said Council having duly rejected bids so <br />received for purchase of part of the materials and the excavation of sewer <br />trenches, now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council shaU meet on Monday, the 2nd day <br />of June, 190, at 8:OO or clock P. B. , for the purpose of opening, receiving <br />and considering bids for materials and the excavation of sewer trenches for <br />the construction of said seuer in Sewer District No', 8 of said Village, in <br />accordance with plans and specifications as approved, and covering materials <br />and the excavation of sewer trenches hereinafter described. <br />Notice to bidders shall be made by publication for three (3) <br />successive weeks in the official newspaper of the Village and in The Improve- <br />ment Bulletin, printed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which notice shall be in <br />substantia3l-y the following form: <br />-- PROPOBAL FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING MATERIALS <br />AND EXCAVATING TFENCHES FOR SANITARY SBVlD <br />DISTRICT NO, 8 - <br />Sealed proposals will be received by the Village of Edina, &e- <br />sota, at Grange Hall, at the corner of Eden Road and Highway No, 100, .in said <br />Village, until. 8:OO o'clock P. <br />saidtime for consideration by the Village Council, for the furnishing of <br />materials and the excavation of sewer trenches for a sanitary sewer in said <br />Village, as follows: <br />on Zune 2nd, 19U, andivill be opened at <br />3500 <br />5000 <br />26000 <br />1500 <br />700 1000 <br />83 <br />lbs. oakum, <br />lbs. kalktite, <br />6" concrete manhole blocks, <br />bbls.
