11/8/60 <br />I*lINUTES OF IEETING OF CANVASSING BOARD FOR <br />EDINA VILLAGE ELECTION ,'HELD TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 1960 <br />AT 8 :15 P.l*S., AT EDINA VILLAGE HALL <br />I-leeting convened at 8:15 P.N. at Village Hall with Council Idembers Beim, Dickson <br />and Tupa acting 'as Canvassing'Buard for Village Election for this date, Tuesday, <br />November 8, 1960. <br />ballots in the five Voting Districts, comparing then with returns of Election <br />Officials; and, later, canvassed the returns of Blection Officials in the two <br />Paper Ballot Voting Districts; and it was then moved, seconded and carried that <br />Canvassing Board finds the returns made by election officials to have been <br />correct in all cases, and certifies the reOurns of the Village Election held <br />November 8, 1960, to be as €allows: <br />llembers canvassed returns of Voting Nachines and absentee <br />TRUSTEES (2) - TGRN THREE YEARS <br />THOS. Mayor <br />Pro Tem Dickson presided in Nayor Bredesen's absence. <br />Tupa's motion approving I4inutes of Meetings of October 24 and 27, 1960 as sub- <br />mitted, was seconded by Beim and carried. <br />CONTIN'UATION OF OCTOBER 24TH PUBLIC TBARIXG ON PROPOSED STORE1 SET.JER IN LESLEE LANE- <br />HAYMAR DRIVE AREA. <br />Consulting Engineers an opportunity to study an alternate proposal suggested by $k. <br />Howard Lindow at the 24th Public Hearing. Ilanager Hyde reported that an alternate <br />estimate prepared by the Engineers has shown the cost of Mr. Lindow's proposal to be <br />some $400 =ore than the original estimate; that lfr. Lindow has been appraised of this <br />estimate and has offered no objection to continuing with the original planned route, <br />Manager Hyde recommended, however, that a new Public Hearing on the project be <br />held, and that the assessable district be increased .Po include certain properties <br />between Kaymar Drive and Old Eden Prairie Road. <br />that action be delayed until an additional survey can be made of the benefited <br />area. Mr. Hyde told Council that if additional area is included, the cost will <br />be reduced from $.039 to S.0318 per assessable square foot; that he believes a <br />nev7 notice can be <br />on Xlonday, November 28; and, by motion Beim, seconded by Tupa and unanimously <br />carried, it was ordered that Consulting Engineers be directed to complete survey <br />of drainage district and that Public Hearing on iniprovement be held on 1-londay, <br />November 28, including revised drainage district. <br />This Public Hearing had been continued from October 24th to give <br />3fessrs Knight and Mahovialc asked <br />published on Thursday, making it possible to hold new Hearing <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED SANITARY SEWER IN EAST SERVICE DRIVE OF STATE HIGHtIAY <br />NO. 100 FROM VALLEY VIEXI ROAD SOUTH 770 FT. TO CUL DE SAC. <br />shown of route'of proposed sewer and area proposed to be assessed therefor; and <br />Estimate of Cost was given as $7,021.17, for $1,404.23 per Assessable Lot. Hr. <br />Harry Jonas, owner of Lot 4, Jonas Addition, told Council the sewer is shopm as <br />running across private property; that the Highway Department has not yet approached , . + <br />him' €or right-of-way negotiations .
