3/16/64 <br />L. <br />IXCNUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE EDINA <br />VILLAGE COUNCIL, HELD MONDAY, ljlARCH 16, 1964, i AT 7:oo P.M., AT EDINA VILLAGE HALL <br />Members answering Rollcall were Macbiillan, Rixe, Tupa, VanValkenburg and Bredesen. <br />MINUTES ofthe Regular Meeting of March 2, 1964, were approved as submitted, by <br />motion BacNillan, seconded by VanValkenburg and carried, <br />JAE-ES L'IcNELLIS, ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF, was recognized by Mayor Bredesen on behalf <br />of the Council, for his completion of the 'International City Nanagers Associatian <br />course in Municipal Fire Administration. <br />complete this course. <br />He is the first of the Firemen to <br />COUNCIL CONGRATULATES EDINA-MORNINGSIDE HIGHSCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAN, AND GRANTS <br />"UNOFFICIAL" LEGAL HOLIDAY FROM THURSDAY , MARCH 19 THROUGH SUNDAY, MARCH 22 <br />VanValkenburg's motion, for adoption of the following Resolution, and recommending <br />that Edina-ites observe an "unofficial"lega1 Holiday from Thunsday, March 19 (the <br />beginning of the State Basketball Tournament) through Sunday, March. 22, was <br />enthusiastically seconded by Tupa, and on Rollcall there were five ayes and no <br />nays, as follows: <br />Bredesen, aye; and this Resolution was adopted: <br />Macblillan, aye; Rixe, aye; Tupa, aye; VanValkenburg, aye; and <br />RESOLUTION <br />WHEREAS, the 1963-1964 Basketball Team of EDINA-MORNINGSIDE HIGH SCHOOL, <br />located in the Village of Edina, has brought outstanding success in the field of <br />sports to its School and its Village by winning the LAKE CONFERENCE, the DISTRICT <br />NO, 18, and the REGION NO. 5 BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS; and <br />TrnRE;AS, as winner of Region No. 5 Championship, the ttHornets'l will enter the <br />MINNESOTA STATE BASKETBALL TOUIUWENT on Thursday, March 19, 1964: <br />NOW, THEREFORE;, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council ofthe Village of Edina <br />that this Council congratulate the BASKETBALL TEAM OF EDINA-MORNINGSIDE HIGH SCHOOL <br />and Coach Duane Baglien on the fine athletic and sportsmanship record made to this <br />date; and <br />. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council appraise the BASKETBALL TEA14 OF EDINA- <br />IiloRNINGSJDE HIGH SCHOOL and Coach Baglien of its <br />will go on to win the MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOO <br />that this fine team <br />CHAMPIONSHIP. <br />COUNCIL REZONES BERTELSON-RAUENHORST PROPERTIES AFTER AGREEMENT ON PARK. <br />Bredesen announced continuation of the March 2nd Public Hearing on the petition of <br />Bertelsen-Rauenhorst interests for rezoning of certain properties (all as recorded <br />in the Minutes of March 2, 1964, Page 23, this Minute Book). <br />Park Land for seven additional dwelling units in the approximately 15 acres of R-4 <br />Multiple Residence District situated adjacent to park, were reviewed, and Village <br />Manager Hyde reported the Park Board has now accepted this recommendation, as of <br />March 9, the * Board's recommendation reading as follows : tl---tlr .- Crinkley moved that <br />we accept Mr. Beqtelsen's dedication of two acres and the additional seven acres for <br />a total of nine acres to be added to our present eleven-acre park. <br />seconded and motion carried." The Council had continued.Hearing for the settlement <br />of the park dedication mattez, and inasmuch as there wereeno comments from the €loor, <br />and no objections had been received prior to the Hearing, VanValkenburg offered the <br />following Ordinance, moving that Council dispense with second reading thereof and <br />adopt Ordinance as submitted: f <br />Nayor <br />Planning Commission <br />-recommendations of larch 4th, that Elr. Bertelsen's offer to trade seven acres of <br />Dr. Jackson <br />ORDINANCE NO. 261-81 <br />AN' .ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 261 <br />(ZONING ORDINANCE) OF THE VILLAGE OF EDINA <br />ESTABLISHING ADDITIONAL MULTIPLE RESIDENCE DISTRICTS: <br />OFFICE BUILDING DISTRICT: PLANNED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT. <br />THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF EDINA, MINNESOTA, ORDAINS: <br />(Multiple Residence District) of Ordinance No. 261 of revised ordinances of the Village <br />of Edina, is hereby amended by adding the following subparagraphs: <br />Section 1. Paragraph l,\Multiple Resience District Boundaries, of Section 4 <br />District R-3 : <br />I I "(3) Lots 13 through 19, Block 2, and Tract A, all in accordance with the <br />Preliminary Plan entitled "Preliminary Plan for Bertelson and Rauenhorstl' <br />and dated January, 1964, on file in office of Edina Village Clerk." <br />"(4) Lots 1 and 2, Block I, Lots 1 through 12, Block 2, and Tract B, all in <br />.
