8/27/65 <br />€4INUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE EDINA <br />VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD FRIDAY, AUGUST 27, 1965, <br />AT 3:OO PaIY., AT EDINA VILLAGE HALL <br />Meeting convened at 3:OO P.M. at the Village Hall, with the following members <br />answering Rollcall: MacMillan, Rixe, Tupa, VanValkenburg and Bredesen. Manager <br />Hyde was present to review with the Council the budget which had been formally <br />presented at the Regular Meeting of the Village Council on August 16, 1965. <br />Mr, Hite and Mr. Langmack were also present. <br />Mr. Dalen, <br />Recommended 1966 Budget was in the amount of $1,838,539 which would mean a Tax Levy <br />for the Village of 30.56 mills against Real and Personal Property Valuations totalling <br />$37,683,483. <br />After a comppehensive review of the proposed budget, it was unanimously agreed that <br />the Village IjIanager should present a reduced Budget which would result in a smaller rate <br />increase for further consideration by the Council at a later meeting. <br />CLAIMS APPROVED. <br />following claims were approved: <br />Postmaster, $500 b 00 ; Treasurer, City of Minneapolis , $21,627 61; Blacktop Service <br />Co., $6,297.23; Village of Edina (Transfer from PIR), $36,500.00; Bi-Lateral Fire Hose <br />Cob, $97.84; Total, $66,549.86, <br />Council discussed ways and means of reducing proposed expenditures. I <br />I Upon motion O€ Rixe, seconded by Tupa and carried unanimously, the <br />Williams $414.84; Jerry's Lucky Dollar Store, $1,112.34; <br />I <br />The business of the meeting having been accomplished, axe moved for adjournment. * <br />Motion seconded by VanValkenburg and carried, Adjournment at 5:OO o'clock P.M. e# 2L-k3 7%-eL&e <br />Village Clerk I/
