6/20/66 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE, <br />EDINA VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD AT THE VILLAGE HALL ON <br />MONDAY, JUNE 20, 1966 <br />Members answering Rollcall were Trustees Johnson, MacMillan, Tupa, VanValkenburg and <br />Mayor Bredesen. <br />MINUTES of Marc@ 21, 1966, and June 6, 1966, were approved as submitted by motion of <br />Trustee VanValkenburg, seconded by Tmstee Tupa and unanimously carried, <br />PUBLIC HEARING CONDUCTED ON PROPOSED STREET IMPROVEMENT IN WARDEN AVEr FROM JOHNSON <br />DRIVE TO TRACY AVE. <br />meeting of June 6, 1966, and stated that price €or concrete street surfacing and <br />concrete curb and gutter, as requested in petition, is estimated at $18*92 per <br />assessable foot and that the estimate for bituminous street surfacing with conorete <br />curb and gutter is $9,23 per assessabLe foot, <br />requested that no action be taken at this time because of the high cost of concrete <br />surfacing and because she does not favor installation of bituminous supfacing in this <br />area which is surrounded by concrete streets, <br />stated that there is a conflict of desire among the original petitioners inasmuch as <br />the petition as submitted requested concrete street sur€acing and bituminous street <br />surfacing is being considered at this hearing. <br />stated that even though petitioners would prefer concrete street swfacipg, he knows <br />of no objections to installation of bituminous surfacing i€ the concrete surfacing <br />is not feasible, Mr, Hyde srated that the Village feels that bituminous surfacing <br />should.' be installed at: this -'time . <br />resolution and- moved its adoption: <br />Mr. Hyde advised Counoil that this Hearing is continued from <br />Mrs, Lloyd 0. '_ I -- a. i <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING BITUMINOUS STREET SURFACING'AND . <br />CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER IMPROVEMENT NO, BA-99 <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Village of Edina, Minnesota, that this <br />Council heretofore caused notice of hearing to be duly published and mailed to owners <br />of each parcel within the area proposed to be assessed on the following proposed improvement: -1 <br />, CONSTRUCTION OF BITUMINOUS STR~ET AND CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER IMPROVEMENT IN: <br />Warden Ave. from Johnson Drive to Tracy Avenue <br />and at the hearing held at the time and place specified in said notice the Council <br />has duly considered the views of all persons interested, and being €uUy advised of <br />the pertinent facts does hereby determine to proceed with the construction of said <br />improvement iqcluding all proceedings which may be necessary in eminent domain'for <br />the acquisition of necessary easements and rights for construction and maintenance <br />of such improvements; that said improvement is hereby designated and shall be Peferred <br />to in all subsequent proceedings as: <br />and the area to be specially assessed therefore shall include a11 lots and tracts of <br />Land abutting the street proposed to be improved, <br />Motion for adoption of the resolution was sec <br />there were five ayes and no nays and the r <br />ATTEST: <br />PERMANENT STREET SURFACING AND CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER NO.
