<br />MINUTES OF THE RFGULAR MEETING OF THE
<br />EDINA VILLAGE-CQUNCIL HELD AT VILLAGE HALL ON
<br />MONDAY , MARCH 20 , 1967
<br />/ Members answering rollcall were Trus,tees Courtney, Johnson, MacMillan and
<br />VanValkenburg who acted as Mayor Pro. Tem in the absence of Mayor Bredesen.
<br />MINUTES of the Regular Meeting of March 6, 1967, were approved as submitted by
<br />motion of Trustee MacMillan, seconded by Trustee Courtney and carried.
<br />EDINA HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAM CONGRATULATED. Pride was expressed in the fact
<br />that the Edina High School Basketball Team had won the Minnesota State Basketball
<br />Tournament for the second consecutive year, whereupon Trustee Courtney, who was
<br />the last previous coach to win two State Basketball Championships in succession,
<br />offered the following resolution and moved its adoption:
<br />RESOLUTION OF CONGRATULATIONS TO
<br />EDINA HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL TEAM
<br />WHEREAS, the members of the Edina Basketball Team under the able direction
<br />of Coaches Duane Baglien, Jerry Rodberg and Bob Savre, have continued to demonstrate
<br />fine sportsmanship and athletic proficiency during the 1966-67 basketball season, and
<br />School Basketball Championship .and has compiled an impressive record of 54 consecutive
<br />victories, and
<br />WHEREAS, the citizenry- of the Village of Edina and this Council are justly
<br />proud of the manner in which this team has conducted itself in all of its .enqeav*ors,
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Cpuncil of the Village of
<br />Edina, Minnesota, that the appreciation and admiration of the community as a whoke
<br />be expressed to this outstanding team, and
<br />to Coaches Duane Baglien, Jerry Rodberg and Bob Savre, to Jay Bennett, Mike Burley,
<br />Bob Downs , Bill Fiedler , Robb Jones, Jay Kiedrowski , Pete Kieley , Doug' MacLennan ,
<br />John Mestemacher , Bob Rose, Kurt Schellhas , John Tjaden , Mark Thoele, Jeff Wright ,
<br />and Bob Zender and to Student Manage
<br />and to Athletic Director Howard Merrim
<br />WHEREAS, the Edina Basketball Team has won its second consecutive State High
<br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that appropriate copies of this resolution be presented

<br />PUB-LIC HEARINGS CONDUCTED ON VARIOUS PROPOSED IMPROVEMEN
<br />in the Edina Courier an.March 9 and 16, 1967, and of Mailing to affected property
<br />owners were presented by Clerk, approved as to form and ordered placed on file.
<br />Pursuant to due notice giyen, hearings were conducted and action taken as hereinafter
<br />recorded :
<br />A. CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENT AND APPURTENANCES IN THE FOLLOWING:
<br />On an easement line from Warren Avenue to Mildred Avenue.,
<br />Mildred Avenue from south line of Lot 9, Block 9, Normandale 2nd Addition to
<br />130 feet north.
<br />Mr. Hyde presented total estimated project cost at $8,640.20, proposed to be assessed
<br />against four assessable lots at an estimated cost of $2,160.05 per assessable lot.
<br />Mr. John C. Connelly, 6356 Tingdale Avenue, owner of Lots 5 and 6,,Block 9, Normandale
<br />Second Addition, stated that construction of the sanitary sewer is necessary before
<br />he can build on his.,property because the elevation of this property-makes it impossible
<br />to use the existing sewer on Mildred Avenue.

<br />construction of the sewer.
