MINUTES OF THE REGULAR-MEETING OF THE <br />EDINA VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD AT VILLAGE HALL ON <br />MONDAY, MARCH 18, 1968 <br />Members answering rollcall were CoanCilmen Courtney, Johnson and VanValkenburg:,- <br />who served as Mayor Pro Tem in the absence of Mayor Bredesen. <br />MINUTES of the meeting of March 6, 1968, were approved as presented by motion of <br />Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Courtney and carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 261-158 GRANTED FIRST READING. Affidavits of Notice were presented <br />by Clerk, approved as to form and ordered placed on file. Mr. Hoisington presented <br />the request of Triple A Investment Company for-zoning change of the Hedberg prop- <br />erty located on the northwest corner of Parklawn Avenue and France Avenue. It is <br />proposed to construct two office buildings on the site encompassing approximately <br />27,000 square feet of office space. Mr. Hoisington indicated that Office Build- <br />ing zoning is anticipated all along France Avenue and that the Planning'Commission <br />has recommended approval. Mr. Wayne Vanderborn, attorney for Triple A Investment <br />Company, appeared in <br />man Courtney offered <br />AN <br />BY u3 <br />support of the request. <br />Ordinance 261-158 for First Reading as follows: <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING OWINANCE NO. 261- <br />REZONING PROPERTY FROM R-1 DISTRICT <br />NO objections being heard, Council- <br />,ORDINANCE NO. 261-158 <br />TO OFFICE BUILDING DISTRICT <br />THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE-OF EDINA, MXNNESOTA, ORDAINS: <br />Section 1. Paragraph 2, "Boundaries of Office Building DistrictYK' Section <br />8, "Office Building District" Ordinance No. 261 of revised ordinances of the <br />Village of Edina, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding the following <br />aY <br />u u - subparagraph: <br />"(y) That part of the East 1/2 of the Southeast 1/4 of <br />Section 31, Township 28, Range 24, Hennepin County, <br />Minnesota, described-as follows: Commencing.at the <br />Northeast corner of said tract; then West 350 feet; <br />thence South 330 feet; thence East-350 feet; thence <br />North 330 feet to the-place of beginning, except roads." <br />Section 2. This Ordinance-Ghall be in full force and effect immediately <br />after its passage and publication according to law. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS CONDUCTED ON VARIOUS IMPROVEMENTS. <br />March 8, and of publication in the Edina Sun on March 7 and 14, 1968, were pre- <br />sented by Clerk, approved as to form and drdered placed on file. L \ -.7 <br />The above improvements being assessed against the same properties, all hearings <br />were conducted simultaneously. Mr. Hyde presented total estimated construction <br />cost of P-SS-266 at $130,104.56, proposed to be assessed against 5,314.23 assess- <br />able feet at a cost of $8.73 per assessable foot. Total estimated construction <br />cost for Watermain P-WM-228 was presented at $128,911.64, proposed to be assessed <br />against .;5,314.33 assessable feet at a cost of $8.65 per assessable foot. Total <br />estimate$ construction cost for P-C-94 was presented by Mr. Hyde at $212,294.66, <br />proposed to be assessed against 5,314.33 assessable feet at an estimated cost of <br />$14.25 per assessable foot. <br />presented at $330,014.25, proposed to be-assessed against 5,314.33 assessable . <br />feet at an estimated cost of $22.15 per assessable foot. It was pointed out that <br />petitions have been received for these improvements which are necessary because <br />of the proposed industrial development in the area.
