MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />EDINA VILTAGE COTJNCZL HELD AT VILLAGE HALL ON <br />MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 1971 <br />Members answering rollcall were Councilmen Courtney, Johnson, Shaw, VanValken- <br />burg and Mayor Bredesen. <br />MINUTES of October 4, 1971, were appioved'as submitted by motion of Councilman <br />Johnson,. seconded by Councilman Courtney and carried. <br />WEBELOS TROUP 198 members were introduced and welcomed by Mayor Bredesen. <br />SOUTHDALE YORK SECOND ADDITION GRANTED PRELIMINARY APPROVAL. Affidavits of <br />Notice were presented by Clerk,,approved as to form and ordered placed on file. <br />Mr. Luce presented Southdale York Second Addition for preliminary plat approval <br />as recommended by Planning Commission, noting that this plat is generally <br />located on the Southeast corner of York Avenue at W. 66th Street and is being <br />platted merely to clarify slot lines. <br />the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Councilman Van Valkenburg then offered <br />RESOLUTION - <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Edina Village Council that that plat known as "Southdale <br />York Second Addition, platted by Dayton Development Corporation and presented <br />at the Edina Village Council Meeting of November'l, 1971, be and is hereby <br />granted preliminary plat approval. <br />Motion for adoption of the resolution was seconded by Councilman Courtney and <br />on rollcall there were five ayes and no nays and the resolution was adopted. <br />TUPA DRIVE AND TUPA CIRCLE STREET NAME CHANGE CONTINUED TO NOVEMBER 15, 1971. <br />Affidavits of Notice were presented by Clerk, approved as to form and ordered <br />placed on file. Mr. Hyde advis'ed that because of a P.T.A. meeting, an attempt <br />was made to continue the hearing until November 15 and some'interested persons <br />had been notified by telephone to that affect. <br />also existed as to the legal ownership of some of the properties on the streets <br />under consideration. Speaking in opposition to continuation of the hearing and <br />urging that the street name be changed as petitioned to 'Qriarhill Drive" were <br />Messrs. Lester Lahner, George E. Maas, Winston Wallin and Dr. D, C. Mr. Hyde advised that the pro- ' <br />posed street name change of McCauley Trail had been brought to hearing because <br />of oonfusion in North-South and East-Vest house numbers on the street. Council- <br />man Van Valkenburg then offered the following ordinance for First Reading as <br />follows : <br />THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF EDINA, MINNESOTA, ORDAINS: <br />line of Indian Hills Road is hereby renamed "McCauley Trail West". <br />Valley View Road is hereby renamed YMcCauley Trail SoubhtY. <br />after its passage and publication. <br />BRITTANY ROAD PROPERTY SALE CONTINUED. Mr. Hyde advised Council that only one <br />'bid had been received for the sale of Village owned iroperty located on the <br />Southwest corner of West 66th Street and Brittany Road. As reaomended by Mr. <br />Hyde, Couficilman Van Valkenburg's motion that the bid remain unopened and that <br />til "for'salerrskgn be placed on the property and that the bid opening be held <br />until November 15, 1971, was seconded by Councilman Courtney and carried. <br />STREET NAME CHANGE ORDINANCE 2 <br />I Section 1. <br />Sec, 2. McCauley Trail from the centerline of Indian Hills Road to <br />.. Sec. 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and <br />McCauley Trail from Gleason Road West and South to center- <br />'. <br />W. 49TH STREET FROM WESTBROOK LANE TO T.H.100 RIGI-KC-OF-WAY CURB AND GUTTER <br />PETITION RECEIVED and prdered referred to the Engineering Department by motion <br />of Councilman Johnson, seconded by Councilman Shaw and carried. <br />,GLEASON ROAD CUL-DE-SAC STREET NAME CHANGE PETITIONED, By motion of Councilman <br />Shaw, seconded by Councilman Van Valkenburg and carried, apetition for change <br />of name for the Gleason Road cul-de-sac to "Gleason Terrace" was set for hearing <br />for November 15, .1971. <br />1
