Van <br />Valkenburg, seconded by Councilman Shaw and carried. <br />.,? <br />-1 PUBLIC HEARINGS CONDUCTED ON VARIOUS PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS. Affidavits of Notice <br />were presented by Clerk, approved as to form and ordered placed on file. <br />suant to due notice given, public hearings were conducted and action talcen as <br />hereinafter set forth: <br />A. 1 Pur- <br />CONSTRUCTION OF PElQMENT STREET SURFACIRG AND CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER IN <br />THE FOLLOI?ING (BA-197) : <br />Antrim Road from 17est 70th Street to Dublin Road <br />Dublin Road from West 70th Street to Antrim Road <br />Kerry Road from Dublin Road to cul-de-sac <br />Wexford Road from Kerry Road to cul-de-sac <br />Down Road from Vexford Road to ,Lee Valley Road <br />Lee Valley Road from Down Road to Shannon Drive <br />Shannon Drive from Lee Valley <br />Tralee Drive from Lee Valley Road to cul-de-sac <br />West 70th Street from Antrim Road to Dublin Circle <br />Road to ZIeGey Hi13 Road <br />Mr. Hyde advised that this hearing is being held as the result of numerous comp- <br />laints that have been received about the condition of the streets in the area. <br />He <br />onere e curb and gutter, cost of which is proposed to be assessed at an estimated <br />cost of $2,674.28 per lot. Nr. Hyde advised also that it is proposed to construct <br />the remainder of Storm Sewer Improvement 117 which was approved by the Csuncil on <br />October 28, 1968, a portion of which was constructed in 1969. The remainder of <br />the project is estimated to cost $41,398.85 and is proposed to be assessed over <br />the area remaining at an estimated rate of $16.00 per one thousand square feet of <br />lot area. <br />41 out of 49 homeowners in the area, which petition expressed objection to the <br />proposal, citing disadvantages of increased assessments, lack of aesthetic appeal <br />and additional costs which would be incurred. <br />less expensive repair and/or resurfacing of the streets.
