AT CITY HALL <br />Answering rollcall were members Courtney, Richards, Schmidt, Shaw and Mayor Van <br />Valkenburg . <br />MINUTES of February 23, 1976, were approved as submitted by motion of Council- <br />woman Schmidt, seconded by Councilman Courtney and carried. <br />I MRS. VIRGINIA SCOTT RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE ADOPTED. Councilman Courtney offered <br />the following resolution and maved its adoption: - <br />RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Virginia G. Scott felt a great concern for the quality of the <br />environment and of life in the world about her; and <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Virginia Scott gave freely of her time as a dedicated member of the <br />Edina Open Space Committee; and <br />.WHEREAS, Mrs. Virginia Scott was appointed as a member of the Environmental Quality <br />Commission of the City of Edina on May 21, 1973, and continued as a member of that <br />Commission until her death on March 1, 1976; and <br />WHEREAS; Mrs. Virginia Scott has served as an Election Judge for the City of Edina <br />since 1974; and <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Virginia Scott also shared her artistic talents as well as her lit- <br />erary talents in her activities as a long time member of the Colonial Church of <br />Ed-ina; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Edina City Council extend its heartfelt <br />sympathy to the family of <br />during this time of their bereavement; and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be spread upon the pages <br />of the Minutes Book of the City of Edina and that a suitable copy be presented <br />to her family. <br />Motion for adoption of the resolution was seconded by Councilwoman Schmidt and <br />unanimously carried. <br />MRS. VIRGINIA G. SCOTT <br />CALVIN H. MOSER RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCE ADOPTED. <br />the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />WHEREAS, Calvin H. Moser served as Building Inspector of the City of Edina from <br />May 17, 1965 to January 2, 1976, at which time he retired because of ill health; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, during those years of rapid development of the City of Edina, Calvin H. <br />Moser performed his duties as Building Inspector diligently and with great <br />efficiency, even as .his physical condition worsened; and <br />.WHEREAS, Calvin H.
