MINUTES <br />OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE <br />EDINA CITY COUNCIL HELD AT CITY HALL <br />MARCH 7, 1977 <br />7:OO P.M, <br />Answering rollcall were members Courtney, Richards, Schmidt, Shaw, and Mayor Van <br />Valkenburg . <br />FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS THANKED FOR PROMPT SERVICE. <br />read a letter of .appreciation from Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Vollc, 3616 W. Fuller St., <br />thanking the Police and Fire Departments for prompt action during an emergency <br />at their home. <br />WATER TREATMENT CHEMICALS, SAND ROCK AND BITUNINOUS MATERIALS BIDS AWARDED. <br />Mr. Hyde presented tabulation of bids received in response to Advertisement for <br />Bids in the Edina Sun and Construction Bulletin. <br />Acid showed Hawlcins Chemical at $7.71, Jones Chemical at $7.49 and Van Waters & <br />Rogers at $8.00. Mr. Hyde pointed out that 30 gallon containers had been speci- <br />fied and that low bidder, Jones Chemicals, Inc,, used 15 gallon containers and <br />did not, therefore, meet specifications. Tabulation for Liquid Chlorine showed <br />Hawkins Chemical, Inc., at $18.91, Jones Chemical at $17.10, Anderson Chemical <br />Co. at $24.75 and Van Waters &. Rogers at $18.85. Mr. Hyde advised that recom- <br />nendation for award of bid was to Hawkins Chemical, Inc., inasmuch as it is best <br />if both chemicals are delivered to the various pump houses at the same time. <br />lation €or Concrete Sand showed Northwest Aggregates, Inc., low bidder at $1.82, <br />W. N.
