Mr. Dunn explained that he
had heard no comment from the neighbors as to whether property owners wished to
have a ten or twenty year assessment and explained also that the proposed assess-
-mat is higher than the estimate primarily because six out of-seven property owners
indicated that they preferred to have the pipe for the sanitary sewer run down their
rear lot lines.
ment with the understanding that letters be sent to all affected property owners
asking whether or not a twenty year assessment was preferable to a ten year assess-
ment, was seconded by Councilman Richards and unanimously carried.
in the meeting,. Mr. Wayne Sanders, 6217 Ashcroft Lane, oiarner of 7425 York Terrace,
referred to a letter dated May 14, 1977, which had been sent out by J4r. Dunn which
letter indicated that residents could save $1,293 by putting the sewer and water
in front of the houses. Mr. Sanders said that at that time he had asked EIr. Dunn
to contact him before deciding on where the pipes should be placed.
replied that he had not contacted Mr. Sanders further inasmuch as the owners of
the other six properties had indicated their desire to have the improvements
put in the back yards. Mr. Sanders also indicated that he would prefer to have
the improvements assessed over twenty years.
Sanders that he should contact the Council by letter if he had any other sug-
gestions as to how the improvement could be assessed (other than paying for it
from General Funds) and recalled that the matter had already been continued to
August 15,1977, so that residents will have an opportunity to respond to the letter
asking whether the assessments should run for ten or twenty years.
