.. 249 <br />MINUTES OF SPECIAL BUDGET MEETING <br />SEPTEMBER 11, 1978 <br />OF THE EDINA CITY COUNCIL HELD AT CITY HALL <br />4:30 P.M. <br />Answering rollcall were members Courtney, Richards, Schmidt, Shaw and Mayor Van <br />Valkenburg. <br />Mr. Rosland generally reviewed the proposed 1979 budget, advis'ing that various <br />department heads would be invited to attend when budgets for their particular <br />departments will be discussed. Central Services budget was reviewed with special <br />concern being expressed relative to the increasing cost of insurance. It was <br />suggested that efforts be made to obtain legislation for relief in this area. It <br />was generally decided that three Newsletters should be published, one in connect- <br />tion with the Homestead forms, and one in connection with the school newsletter. <br />Cooperation with the schools in this area will be encouraged. Planning, Admini- <br />stration and Election budgets were discussed.
