211 <br />NINUTES <br />OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE <br />EDINA CITY COUNCIL HELD AT CITY HAJ,L <br />NOVEMBER 10, 1980 <br />The special session of the Edina City Council was called to order at 4:30 p.m. <br />November 10, 1980, in the Conference Room of Edina City Hall. <br />Present at rollcall we're Mayor Van Vabkenburg and Council Members Bredes n, <br />Assistant City Manager Nark Bernhardson and City Attorney Thomas Erickson. <br />Courtney, Richards and Schmidt. Also present were City Manager Kenneth I l! osland, <br />The special session was to discuss two items of business which are potential <br />lawsuits, one of which also includes negotiations for a land sale. <br />The first was a review of the Crossroads of Edina development. Discussion <br />was had with Xr. Erickson relative to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority's <br />(H.R.A.) financial involvement and whether the City was receiving what it anti- <br />cipated. Also, proposed resolutions by the City Council and H.R.A. were <br />reviewed. No action was taken. <br />The second item discussed by Mr. Ericksonwas sale of property to Braemar <br />Associates and different sale options, together with the current Braemar <br />Associates' offer. A counter proposal was formulated and Mr. Erickson was <br />given authority to negotiate further with Braemar Associates based on the <br />Council discussion. <br />Also, at the request of Mayor Van Valkenburg, Mr. Rosland reviewed the bid <br />situation and outlined the plans and costs for City Hall remodeling. <br />advised that the bids were yet in force. Following discussion, it was agreed <br />to hold a Special Meeting on Thursday, November 13, 1980, at 5:OO p.m. in the <br />Conference Room of City Hall to take action ori accepting or rejecting the bids. <br />Mr. Rosland <br />The meeting was adjourned at 6:OO p.m.
