2 12 <br />The special scsssioii of thc Wino City Courici.1 was called to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />Novcnibcr 13, 19S0, in the CoiiEcrciice Room of Ediiia City ilnll, pursuant to due <br />notice. <br />Present at rollcall werc Phyor Van Valkenburg and Council Picmbers Brcdesen, <br />Courtney, Richards and Schmidt. <br />and staf f members Bernhardson, Dalen, Smith and Police Chief Swanson. <br />Police Chief Swanson discussed a proposed resolution that would cite Edina's <br />opposition to Helinepin County's intended fees for jail services. He advised <br />that the resolution was a model resolution proposed by the Hennepin County <br />Chiefs of Police Association. Council took no action on the matter. <br />Also present were City R~nager Kenneth Rosland, <br />I <br />Mr. Rosland reviewed the plans for City Hall remodeling and presented labor <br />cost cornparisions for the bids submitted. <br />project, Councilwoman Schmidt moved award of the Base Bid and Alternate A be <br />made to the low bidder, Norman T. Berglund Construction, Inc. <br />of the bid to Norman T. Berglund Construction, Inc., in the amount of $232,566-00 <br />was seconded by Councilman Courtney. <br />After further discussion of the <br />Motion for award <br />Ayes: Courtney, Richards, Schmidt, Van Valkenburg <br />Nays: Bredesen <br />Motion carried. <br />There being no further business, the Mayor declared the meeting adjourned at <br />6:OO p.m. <br />. <br />I
