MINUTES OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING <br />AUGUST 30, 1982 <br />OF THE EDINA CITY COUNCIL HELD AT CITY HALL <br />7:OO P.M. <br />Pursuant to due notice given, council met in special session, prior to the 1983 <br />Budget Meeting. Answering rollcall were Members Bredesen, Richards, Schmidt, <br />Turner and Mayor Courtney. <br />HEALTH INSURANCE CONSULTANT TO BE RETAINED. Mr. Rosland recalled that, in an <br />effort to control health benefit costs for City employees, Council had directed <br />the staff to select a consultant to explore alternatives to the present health <br />package that Edina receives through the County. He advised that only two bids <br />had been received, with %in City Administrators bidding $9,750.00 and TPF and <br />Company bidding $10,000 and recommended.retention of seMces--of TPFA:& Company .. <br />inasmuch as that company fs mot affiliated with the insurance industry. In- <br />response to.the suggestion of Member Bredesen that volunteers be sought, Mr. Ros- <br />land said that he was not aware of any resident who would be willing to make this <br />study and that he hoped the consultant could also furnish valuable information <br />on self insurance. He recommended that the antenna ordinance (No. 812) be up- <br />dated to recognize HBO dishes and earth stations and asked that he be advised of <br />any suggestions that Council might have in the drafting of such an ordinance. <br />No formal action was taken. <br />CORPORATE GOALS PLAN DISTRIBUTED.
