Motion carried on rollcall vote - five ayes. *BID AWARDED FOR DIGITAL LOGGING RECORDER - POLICE DEPARTMENT Motion made by Member Housh and seconded by Member Hovland for award of bid for a Police Department digital logging recorder to recommended low bidder, Loffler Business Systems at $27,239.00. Motion carried on rollcall vote - five ayes. DATES SET FOR 2002 VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION RECEPTION AND 2002 ANNUAL MEETING Manager Hughes presented tentative dates for the 2002 Volunteer Recognition Reception and the 2002 Annual Meeting. Following a brief Council discussion, Member Masica made a motion setting the 2002 Annual Meeting for March 26, 2002, at Braemar Clubhouse at 5:00 P.M. and the 2002 Volunteer Recognition Reception for April 18, 2002, at Edinborough Park at 5:00 P.M. Member Housh seconded the motion. Ayes: Housh, Hovland, Kelly, Masica, Maetzold Motion carried. RESOLUTION NO. 2001-94 AND RESOLUTION NO. 2001-95 - RESTATEMENT OF THE CITY OF EDINA DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLANS I AND II APPROVED Member Masica removed Resolution No. 2001-94 and Resolution No. 2001-95 restatement of the City of Edina Deferred Compensation Plans I and 1I from the Consent Agenda for further information. Member Masica inquired whether the changes were mandatory or elective and would there be any additional cost to the City. Assistant Manager Anderson explained the changes were elective with no additional cost. The changes would remove current limitations on the plans. Motion made by Member Masica and seconded by Member Hovland approving the resolution as follows: RESOLUTION NO. 2001-94 RESOLUTION APPROVING RESTATEMENTS OF CITY OF EDINA DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN I BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Edina (the "City") as follows: Recitals. It is necessary for the City to amend deferred compensation plans established by the City for its covered employees which are entitled the "City of Edina Deferred Compensation Plan I" to include applicable requirements of the Economic Growth and Tax Reconciliation Act of 2001, and there has been prepared and is on file with the Page 5 Minutes/Edina City Council/December 4,2001 Assistant City Manager drafts of the "City of Edina Deferred Compensation Plan I (2002 Restatement)" (the "Plan I Restatement"). Approvals. The Plan I Restatement is hereby approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Plan I Restatement on behalf of the City in substantially the form on file with the Assistant City Manager with such variations, insertions and additions as may be approved by the Mayor and City Attorney, with such approval to be conclusively evidenced by the execution of such documents by the Mayor. ORDINANCE NO. 2001-10 GRANTING FIRST READING - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CODE SECTION 185 INCREASING CERTAIN FEES Member Masica asked for a clarification of terms regarding the different food license categories. Manager Hughes said staff would have a written explanation in the next packet explaining the difference between the high-risk, medium-risk and low-risk food establishment licensing. Member Housh made a motion granting First Reading to Ordinance No. 2001-10, An Ordinance Amending Code Section 185 Increasing Certain Fees. Member Kelly seconded the motion. Ayes: Housh,Hovland, Kelly, Masica, Maetzold Motion carried.
