SOUTHEAST EDINA PARK AND STORM WATER SYSTEM DISCUSSED; STUDY AUTHORIZED.
Mr. Rosland recommended that the City hire a planning consultant to work with the
City Engineering and Park Departments to develop a plan for the park and storm
water ponding area on the Hedberg property. He explained that the City has not
considered the park and storm ponding plan thus far, and it is time now to do so
inasmuch as Hedberg and Sons are considering a development plan for their land.
Mr. Rosland pointed out that the planning study would not exceed $10,000 and
would be funded by the Southeast Edina Redevelopment District. Member Turner
asked what kind of planning needs to be done. Mr. Rosland replied that the City
needs to determine: 1) the location of the park, 2) the amount of property it might
need for park and the ponding area, and 3) how it might tie in with the Edinborough
project. As recommended by the City Manager, Member Bredesen moved authorization
to hire a planning consultant to prepare a park plan for the proposed park on the
Hedberg property. Motion was seconded by Member Turner.
Ayes: Bredesen, Richards, Schmidt, Turner, Courtney
Motion carried.
No further business appearing, the meeting was adjourned.
