DISCUSSION OF THE LEONARD PROPERTY Mr. Rosland then presented the two proposed plans sent in by the developer. If the property stays as is there will be nine lots and if the Park Board agrees to the exchange of property there would be eleven developed lots and the city would receive $150,000.00. In this exchange the City would lose approximately one acre of park land. Mr. Rosland pointed out that they are going to go to the Planning Commission with one of these plans on July 29, and a decision must be made now. He pointed out the disadvantages of developing a park with the present configuration of the land, e.g., parking, the sloping of the land, the fact that we would be developing a park so close to residential housing. There was then some discussion on what the $150,000.00 would be used for if we were to receive it and what type of facilities could be put in the park if we went with Plan 2. There was also some discussion as to whether or not the City had an access to Mirror Lakes at some other area and whether or not we would have easement property at Fox Meadow. Mr. Rosland pointed out that easement rights were not practical and there was another access to the lake. It was decided that although the Park Board was -reluctan-t: to give up the lakeshore property, there was really no practical reason to hold on to it. Mrs. Shaw MADE A MOTION to accept alternative plan r2 if the price paid to the Park Board was at least $150,000.00 and on the condition that this money would be used to develop parks. Mr. Wineberg SECONDED. Mr. Erdall OPPOSED. Meeting adjourned at 6:10 p.m.
