Explorers Post No. 925 Wins Awards in Conference Competition
Edina, Minn., Oct. 29, 2015 – Edina/Eden Prairie Explorer Post No. 925 won several awards at the
19th-annual Explorers conference last month in Duluth, Minnesota.
More than a dozen members of Explorers Post No. 925, accompanied by three advisors -- Police
Officer Nicole Frederick, Police Officer Richard Harr and volunteer Dave Warren -- took part in the
competition at Fond Du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet, Minnesota. The Conference
included 300 Explorers from two states.
The scenario-based competition required Explorers to act out, in teams of four, a realistic scenario
related to law enforcement. The conference is designed to keep Explorers current on their skills,
challenge participants and create an environment for learning.
Post No. 925 took home several team and individual awards, including:
1st and 3rd place in the sample police exam
2nd place in crime scene
2nd place in domestics
2nd place in first aid
3rd place in traffic stops
5th place in traffic accident reconstruction
“I was proud of the way our Explorers performed,” said Frederick. “They work hard at our weekly
meetings and volunteer events. It was fun to see them compete at an event.”
