Edina Human Rights & Relations Commission Holds a
Community Conversation
Edina, Minn., Feb. 4, 2015 – The Edina Human Rights & Relations Commission (HRRC) is holding its first
Community Conversation. The Community Conversation will help identify areas where Edina succeeds as a
supportive community, as well as areas in which the City could improve. This event will be held 7-9 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 17 in the Rotary Community Room at the Southdale YMCA, 7355 York Ave. S.
“Edina is committed to providing a welcoming community where everyone can thrive,” explained Arnie Bigbee,
Co-Chair of the Community Outreach Workgroup for the HRRC. “We want to hear about individual, legal,
political, societal and cultural experiences. [We hope to] build a better Edina that promotes and encourages
positive change.”
Anyone who lives or works in Edina is eligible to attend. Attendees from diverse economic, racial, and social
backgrounds are encouraged to attend.
The HRRC plans to hold five additional Community Conversations in the next year. The information gathered
from these Conversations will be summarized and presented to the HRRC.
