Mayor to Lead Walk at Bredesen Park
Edina, Minn., May 7, 2015 – The City of Edina holds a “Walk with the Mayor” every month. Edina Mayor
Jim Hovland will lead this month’s walk 9 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Bredesen Park, 5901 Olinger Blvd.
“Who wouldn’t like to walk at beautiful Bredesen Park and have some time to talk with the Mayor about
Edina?” asked Recreation Supervisor Donna Tilsner. “We hope many people come.”
Located off Vernon Avenue and Olinger Boulevard, Bredesen Park is more than 200 acres featuring walking,
jogging and biking paths that surround Nine Mile Creek and nature trails that offer spectacular views of the
creek and wildlife.
“Bredesen is one of the City’s gems from a park standpoint and offers so much in the way of natural
elements,” said Hovland. “This time of the year, we should get a chance to see migratory birds and enjoy each
other’s company as well.”
Walk with the Mayor events are held on the third Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. In case of rain, residents
should meet at the Caribou Coffee at Southdale Center.
