Edina, Minn., June 15, 2015 – The City of Edina and the Edina Community Foundation encourage residents

This year’s events will be kick-started with a 45-minute parade at 10 a.m. behind Edina City Hall, 4801 W.
50th St. The parade route proceeds one mile east to the U.S. Bank parking lot at West 50th Street and Halifax
Avenue. The parade theme honors WW II veterans.
“The Edina Fourth of July parade has a great tradition of honoring veterans, and we are excited to be
honoring nine Edina residents who served in WW11 as our Grand Marshals this year,” said Recreation
Supervisor Amanda Clarke.
Grand Marshals are Marv Haas, U.S. Army; Bob Ries, U.S. Marine Corps; Ralph MacHolda, Army, Navy,
Marine Merchant; Lloyd Flynn, U.S. Marine Corps; Tom Richards, U.S. Army; Richard Kaminski, U.S. Air
Force, Donald Dick, U.S. Navy; Robert Harvey, U.S. Navy Air; and Dick Peterson, U.S. Air Force.
Organizers recommend spectators arrive early, since an estimated 20,000 people will attend the parade. The
parade will be broadcast live on Edina Channels 16 and 813 and will be aired throughout the month. The
video will also be available online after the parade. The broadcast is sponsored by Explore Edina.
In the evening, there will be a concert and fireworks at Rosland Park, 4300 W. 66th St. As tradition, the First
John Philip Sousa Memorial Band will perform at 8:30 p.m. Following, the fireworks display will begin at 10
p.m.
The 2015 parade is organized by the Edina Community Foundation with support from the City of Edina.
