Pamela Park Grand Opening Scheduled for Sept. 30
Edina, Minn., Sept. 10, 2015 – The public is invited to celebrate the grand opening of Pamela Park at 4303
W. 58th St. A grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30.
The project at Pamela Park began in the fall of 2014. Improvements include a new shelter building; the
conversion of the north field to a sand peat field; changing the senior lighted field to an artificial turf field; the
addition of paved trails around the park and the expansion of the parking lots on the north, west and south
sides of the park.
The new shelter building includes a storage area for use by athletic associations and the Parks & Recreation
Department, restroom facilities, a kitchenette and work space and a community room for neighborhood
gatherings and special occasion rentals.
The grand opening event will include remarks from Mayor Jim Hovland, City Manager Scott Neal and Parks &
Recreation Director Ann Kattreh and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Following the ceremony, attendees are
encouraged walk around on the new trails and find renovation information and fun facts throughout the park.
