MARK C. HEGSTROM DAY
WHEREAS, Mark C. Hegstrom grew up in Edina and graduated from Edina High School in 1983; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hegstrom went on to study Economics at the University of MN, where he earned his
Bachelor's degree; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hegstrom joined The Rotary Club of Edina/ Morningside in 2002; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hegstrom admirably served as President of his club in 2008-2009; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hegstrom has since worked in District 5950 on numerous committees for the
Foundation, the District Conference, and Membership; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hegstrom was known as "Marketing Mark" in promoting the District Conference;
WHEREAS, Mr. Hegstrom was also known as "Membership Mark," for recruiting numerous members
into his Rotary Club, as he became well-known to many for his membership campaign called "One and Done";
and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Hegstrom is a champion of The Rotary Foundation, for which he and his wife Colleen
are classified as "Major Donors" and "Paul Harris Society Members;"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY PROCLAIMED by James B. Hovland, Mayor of the City of Edina,
Minnesota, that June 27, 2017 be recognized as,
"MARK C. HEGSTROM DAY"
In Edina; and,
May it be further proclaimed that on this Day Mr. Mark Hegstrom be recog ized, thanked and honored for his
significant contributions of time, effort and energy to The Rotary Club of Edi a/ Morningside and Rotary
District 5950.
