OF THE WORK SESSION OF THE
EDINA CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT CITY HALL
JUNE 20, 2017
6:24 P.M.
Mayor Hovland called the work session of the Edina City Council to order at 5:31 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Answering roll call were Members Brindle, Fischer, Staunton, Stewart, and Mayor Hovland.
Edina City Staff attending the meeting: Ann Kattreh, Parks & Recreation Director; Debra Mangen,
City Clerk; Chante Mitchell, City Management Fellow; and Scott Neal, City Manager
FRED RICHARDS MASTER PLAN WITH CONSULTANTS
Ann Kattreh introduced Brad Aldrich and Terry Minarik, Confluence who presented the progress on
the Fred Richards Master Plan to date. It was noted that the major themes for the concept included:
1) restore nature's role, 2) create pathways for play and health; and 3) invite the whole community.
Further details were presented of possible features: Nature Bank, Neighborhood Park, Great Lawn,
Central Green, Northern Loop, and Clubhouse Building.
The City Council, staff and consultants discussed the various aspects and components that would be
desirous of each of the feature areas. The final draft concept will be presented to the Parks and
Recreation Commission on July I I`h and then be on the City Council's Julyl8th agenda for final
approval.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Hovland adjourned the meeting at 7:01 p.m.
