Re: SEPTEMBER 9, 1997, PARK BOARD DINNER AND PARK TOUR!
I am pleased to invite to you be our guest for dinner in the Warren Hyde Clubhouse at
the Braemar Golf Course on Tuesday, September 9, 1997, at 6:00 p.m. sharp.
Immediately following this delicious hot meal (hopefully, no later than 6:30 p.m.), we will
depart on the new Senior Citizen bus (which was generously donated entirely by the
Edina Foundation) and visit the following exciting parks and facilities affected by the two
40 Park Referendums:
• BRAEMAR SOUTH ARENA
• COURTNEY BALL FIELD COMPLEX
• COUNTRYSIDE PARK
• TINGDALE PARK
• EDINA AQUATIC CENTER
• LAKE CORNELIA PARK (playground equipment & tennis courts)
• EDINA ART CENTER (Media Lab)
• PAMELA PARK
If time permits, we will make a brief stop at Centennial Lakes Park to view the partially
completed putting greens golf course, as well as, the newly completed lawn games area
(lawn bowling, croquet, bocce ball, etc.).
It is my intent to have no formal meeting or issues to be discussed in September. You
folks are the best and deserve a break.
As always, Janet Canton will attempt to contact you by phone to confirm
attendance.
On behalf of all the Park and Recreation staff, I wish to thank you for all your
volunteer efforts and continued support of parks and recreation in Edina. You're the
best. I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday. Many thanks.
