MINUTES OF THE EDINA SENIOR ADVISORY COUNCIL
May 27, 1992
MEMBERS PRESENT: Doraine Bingham, Carl Carlson, Polly Denison, Evelyn Gunn
Elizabeth Johnson, Inez Vogtman, Sue Weigle
This is the first meeting of the Edina Senior Center Advisory Council Board. Each member
was introduced and stated their affiliation with the Senior Center program:
Doraine Bingham - Rhinestone Rockettes
Carl Carlson - Swingn' Singin' Seniors
Polly Denison - Bridge Group and Walking Group
Evelyn Gunn - Edina Senior Dining
Elizabeth Johnson - AARP
Inez Vogtman - Bowling and Golf
Sue Weigle - Advisor
Definition and purpose of the Council was discussed along with the reviewal of Richfield
Community Center Intercouncil Bylaws.
The group agreed that there should be more members to our council, Carl suggested that
a younger senior or possibly a member of the Edina Golden "K".Sue will ask Paul Otness
to appoint someone from the softball and volleyball leagues to serve on the board. Doris
Westergren, Center Treasurer will also be asked to serve. The Council will meet several
times before the Bylaws are drawn up. It was agreed that our meetings would be held at
8:15am on the fourth Wednesday of each month.
Sue will bring each member a folder to the next meeting. The group toured the "new"
facility.
Meeting adjourned at 9:15am.
Next meeting June 24, 1992 at 8:15am at the "new" Edina Senior Center.
