Open House to be Held Jan. 21 for Grandview Facility
Edina, Minn., Jan. 7, 2016 – The public is invited to attend an open house 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, at
Edina’s Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility, 7450 Metro Blvd., to provide input on possible amenities
and programs at a possible new community facility in the Grandview area.
A mixed-use development at the City’s former public works site in Grandview, 5146 Eden Ave., has been
discussed for several years. Now, further study and refinement is needed to determine the programming and
feasibility of the public component at such a facility before a recommendation to the City Council can be
made.
“This is a critical next step in the planning of a potential community facility at Grandview and resident
feedback is extremely valuable in this process,” said Parks & Recreation Director Ann Kattreh. “This study will
take information and data that has already been collected from resident input [over the last several years],
further study the needs and interests of residents and the competitive market, determine which components
fit best into a new facility and then study the financial viability of the facility.”
A second open house will be held March 10 to gather final feedback on the study. Kattreh expects the
process to conclude in May.
