FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Public Invited to Grandview Transportation Workshop
Edina, Minn., Feb. 4, 2016 – All are invited to participate in a public workshop for a transportation study
focusing on the Grandview area 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the Public Works & Park Maintenance Facility,
7450 Metro Blvd.
Following a presentation and question-and-answer session, participants will work hands-on to evaluate
potential transportation scenarios and solutions for the Grandview area. The focus of the meeting is
transportation for the entire Grandview area, and will not focus on a single site.
“Our project team received useful feedback from stakeholders at the first workshop in November,” said
Transportation Planner Mark Nolan. “We are excited to share future transportation scenarios that were
developed with their input, and look forward to hearing what they think of the potential solutions.”
The public can also attend presentations at the City Council’s 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17 meeting or at the
Transportation Commission’s 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 meeting. Public comments will not be taken at those
meetings.
The Grandview transportation study builds off the 2011 development framework, and will provide an analysis
of existing transportation conditions and will explore, refine, clarify and expand on recommendations made in
the framework.
The City hired architecture and engineering firm LHB, transportation firm Nelson/Nygaard Consulting and
Alta Planning + Design to lead the study and to identify needs, challenges and opportunities and to review and
evaluate recommended changes to the transportation network of Grandview to meet the community’s long-
term needs.
