OF THE WORK SESSION OF THE
EDINA CITY COUNCIL
HELD AT CITY HALL
SEPTEMBER 19, 2017
6:25 P.M.
Mayor Pro Tem Brindle called the meeting to order at 6:25 p.m.
ROLL CALL
Answering roll call were Members Brindle, Fischer, Staunton, Stewart, and Mayor Hovland.
Edina City Staff attending the meeting: Ann Kattreh, Parks & Recreation Director; Debra Mangen, City Clerk;
Chante Mitchell, City Management Fellow; Chad Millner, Engineering Director; Scott Neal, City Manager, and
Brian Olson, Public Works Director. Also attending Ken Grieshaber from SRF Consulting.
BRAEMAR MASTER PLAN UPDATE
Ann Kattreh, Parks & Recreation Director, introduced Ken Grieshaber, the City's consultant for the Braemar
Master Plan. Mr. Grieshaber and Ms. Kattreh presented a synopsis of the planning and community engagement
work accomplished to date. The solicited feedback from the Council regarding whether or not to retain the
practice hole, security of cell tower site near the SW Training Center, snowmaking for trails, cross country and
fat tire bike trails, and their locations wayfinding in the Park, should there be a parkway, playground and
buckthorn abatement. The hope was expressed that the Braemar renovation would also re-energize use at
Braemar Arena and Braemar Field.
Staff reviewed the next steps and stated they would update the City Council the Mater Plan process progresses.
ADJOURNMENT
Mayor Hovland adjourned the meeting at 6:57 p.m.
