Edina Police Department Swears In Jaren Zech
Edina, Minn., Dec. 8, 2016 – The Edina Police Department swore in Officer Jaren Zech in the Council
Chambers at Edina City Hall Dec. 8.
“I became interested in working for Edina PD after researching the department,” said Zech. “I also spoke to
officers who worked here and found they had great things to say about working here. I’m excited for the
opportunity to take my previous experience and apply it to serving the citizens of Edina.”
Zech graduated from Century College with an associate degree in Law Enforcement. He has worked as a
police officer for five years at the Centennial Lakes Police Department, which includes Circle Pines, Lexington
and Centerville. Before that, he served in the U.S. Army National Guard as a military policeman and was
deployed to Iraq in 2009.
“With Jaren’s previous law enforcement experience and personality, I believe he will be a very good fit with
our department and will serve our residents well,” said Chief Dave Nelson.
Zech is currently attending Metropolitan State University to complete his bachelor’s degree. He grew up in
Circle Pines, Minnesota, and currently lives in Lino Lakes with his wife, Alyssa, and two children.
