BRAEMAR GOLF COURSE
PROPOSED FEES CHARGES
AND
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT BUDGET FOR 1979
The 1978 season, although very wet in the spring, turned out to be
very successful from a financial standpoint. The year end report is not
available at this writing, however the October 1978 income statement
indicated that we were only slightly ($4,629.00) behind the record
1977 season. The 1977 year was a record $100,000 net profit year before
bond payment.
The year ahead will see many improvements being undertaken on our
course. Some of these will be:
1) Two new wells with pumps
2) New water holes being created on hole #2
3) Installation of a new fully automatic irrigation system
4) Erection of a new bridge across the #9 water hole
5) New cart paths & tees
6) Improvements in our lesson program
7) Indoor golf operation by city
Many operation changes take place each year also. These changes are not
always so obvious. It is sufficient to say that we are ever expanding
our programs to meet the demands of the residents of Edina.
This will also be an exciting year with the National Ladies Public
Links Tournament at Braemar.
I strongly feel that we should continue to improve our facility each
year, using cash surpluses directly to improve the golf course physical
plant and operation, keeping in mind that the user is paying 100% of the
improvement cost.
