Hinutes of the regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Edina.
held in Grange Hall at 8 PK, on
October 22, 1934.
The meeting was called to order by the President and all
members of the Council were found Dresent with the ex-
ception of Trustee Prescott.
Mr. Strong appeared before the Council on the matter of
lease betven the Village and EPIinneha,ha Grange after dis- cussion at the Council rfleeting held on October 15. Mr.
Strong advised that the matter of drawing up a lease
had been delayed for the reason he ws not able to ascer- tain whether or no Xinnehaha Grange, as owners of the
building, was incorporated under the laws of Ninnesota4.
Under the circumstances it vas thought adviseable to have
the matter come up at the next meeting of the Council on Kovember 12, 1934.
A1be;rt Graber again appeared before the Council with
reference to certain engineering fees he believed he had
coining for work he had done on behalf of the Country dlub Association.

A comaunication dated Ootober 9, 1934 Tram the Hinnesota
Railrod a.nd Warehouse Commission, advising that the petition dated Ma.y 21, 1434 of the Hinneapolis, Northfieid, and Southern Railway for the removal of sn overhead high- way bridge on what is known as Hopkins Road over the track of said railway company on Government Lot 5, S.28, T.117,
R.21, and the Village of Edina had been granted and that
said Railway Company will contribute $300.00 toward the cost of extending Arcadia Avenue South to Eden Prairie Road.
A letter dated October 12, 1334 by Mr. Geo. Ti. Strong regarding the letter by Thorpe Bros. dated September 19,
1934 was read.
Application in form for building permit by P. Bachrnan to build a, garage addition to present barn on 60th St.
between Zenith and Abbott Avenues was on motion Willson be granted. Seconded by Blackburn and carried.
The matter of moving Grange Hall onto the part of Govern- ment Lot 5 previously referred to the sme now zoned by
Village Ordinance a.s being in the Open Developement
Di&rict. It was thereupon moved millson that due notices be posted in the matter of which the Zoning Ordinance
applying to that part of Government Lot 5 the property of Village 0-2 Edina so as to include under Section 3 "Grange Hall" and the same to be heard at a Council meeting to be held on NovewIber 12. Motion seconded by Blackburn
and czrried.
At the suggestion of the Recorder, judges and clerks for
the state election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 1934
were Baaed.
It mas moved Moore that warrant and check be dram in amount
$20.00 in favor of A. C. Price-for the rent of the A1
Bendricks faaily for the month of October. Motion seconded
By Tillson and carried.
It mas moved Willson that the uamal advanced.be made the
Village mad crew and. police officers. Mo-tion seconded
by Blackburn and carried.
There being no further business,to come before the Council,
motion to adjourn carried at 10 P.M.
