Hinutes sf the regular meeting of the Council held on January 13, 1936, were read, on motion Blackburn they be approve& as read, seconded by Prescott and carried. The pay-roll having been duly examhed and found correct, it was moved Preseott that the usual paywoll advances be gl;lowed and ordered paid, secont3ed by Willson and carried, Application in form for building permit by A, N, Vfangstad to build a private dwelling on 16% 17, block 8, Bromd-ale Park Addition, was on motion Blackburn, be granted, sec- onded by Willson and carried, Application in form for building permit by Sigurd A. Johnson to build a private dwelling on lot 13, block 6, South Harriet Park Addition, was on motion Willson, be granted, seconded by Prescott and carried, 119ter discussion on the matter of house numbers, it was moved Blackburn that the Village Engin-aer be instructed to assign house numbers to a11 lots and/or parcels of land in the area east of Rutledge Avenue and north of West 54th Street on the basis of continuing the numbers according to the Minneapolis method. and allowing one number for twenty-five feet of residential frontage, and one nunber for fifteen feet of business frontage, with one hundred numbers assigned to each block. Rotion sec- onded by Moore and carried. *- Letter from I&. Oscar Gaarden dated at Kingston, Ontario, January 17, replying to letters of the Recorder dated .January 15, wasc read in which Nr. Gaarden thanked the Council for its offer to eo-operate in the water problem, Application by the Hay and Stenson Company for renewal of "off-sale" liquor license, accompanied by a check of $IOO,OO, was read, Whereupon it was move6 Blackburn that the 'roff-salerr liquor license of the Hay and Stenson Company at 3901 vf. 50th Street be renewed for the ensuing year. Motion seconded by Prescott and carried. It was suggested by the President that Mr. D, w, Wallace be advised in reply to his recent letter that the Council proposed to charge the maximum fee permissable under the state law for 'ref f-sale" liquor *. license ,swMEh~ms-agrkre= &letYm:.tW, Co€timil-.-::' .f The recent application of Erick B jorkman for "off -saler* liquor license was discussed by the Council, after which it was moved Willson that the application be refused, seconded by Prescott and carried, *> The matter of providing shelter for the 'tPJPA workers on the bcadia Avenue project was discussed, whereupon it was noved Prescott that the Smisek Feed Store be rented heated at $5.00 per month during such time as necessary, seconded by Blackburn and carried, Aprlication by the Etfinneapolis General Zl-ectric Co . for pemission to set one pole on tv. 50th Street to carry service to the aa~ deep well pump south of vi, 50th St. granted, seconded by Blackburn and carried, . and west of Wooddale Ave. was on motion Prescott, be No furthe$ business to come before the Council, motion to adjounr carried at 10:30 P.M. i Village Recorder
