HomeMy WebLinkAbout19360309_REGULAR.I Hinutes of the regular meeting of the Council of the Village of Edina, held in The Tract Office, 4409 W. 49th Street, Narch 9, 1936, at 8 P.E. The meeting was called to order by the President, roLl was called, and a11 members were present. The minutes of the regular meeting of the Council held onFebruary 24, were read, on motion Prescott, they be approved as read. Seconded by Blackburn and carried. Nr. Oscar Gaarden apDeared before the Council requesting pay for hydrant rental. After discussion, it was moved Blackburn that the mtter be passed until the next meeting. Motion seconded by Prescott and carried. The President reported on the relief situation and the crises brought about by the Federal Governmen's with- drawal 'from relief as of March lst, thereby making it necessary for the local units of the government to carry a much lager load than they mere able to carry. After discussion, it was moved Blackburn that the agreement signed by the President and Recorder on behalf of the ' Vii1ap.e of Edina, authorizing the Hennepin County Relief Boaad to administer relief for the month of Earch on estimated basis not to exceed $925.00, be concurred in and authoriz.ed. - Motion seconded by Prescott and carried. Application in form for building perrait by H. D. Roache to build a private dwelling at 4500 Arden Avenue, acc- ompanied by the uaual building pemit fee and clean-up service deposit, in amount $26.00, was on motion Bktck- burn, be granted subject to approval of proner setkback so as to conform with existing dwellings on Sunnyside R0a.d and on Arden Avenue. Motion seconded by Willson and carried. ApljliM.ti&n in form for building permit by C. 14. Hanson to build a private dwelling at 5305 Wooddale Avenue, accompanied by the building permit fee of $1.00, mas on motion Willson, be granted, seconded by Psescott and carried. After discussion, it was moved Prescott that the Road and Bridge Committee and Relief Committee of the Council be increased to three members each, and that the Presi- dent be appointed to the Relief Committee znd Trustee Blackburn to the, Road and Bridge Committee. Seconded by Willson and carried. Trustee Blackburn offered Seaboard Surety Bond dated February 27, 1936, in amount $3000.00, on behalf of the Country Club, Inc. as bondsman for said Club to carry on the business of handling and serving intox- ica.ting liquor as an llOn-Salel~ dealer a.t the Country Club. Motion seconded by Moore and carried. The Miscellaneous Bills, upon being duly examined and found correct, were on motion Prescott, be granted., seconded by Blackburn and carried.
