The meeting svaa called 3y order of President Sharpo, the raeeting called to or.der by the' President, the roll was called and all members of the Council were found present except Trustee Prsscott, who -.ms absent from the Village. At the request of the President, Trimtee Holten, chairman sf the PolPce Committee, reported a$ length on his investigation of appfi- cants for the position of Village Police 0ffic.W. The following citizens were duly considered, Earold Alden, Howard bakins, John Cooper, Hilding Dah1 and James Ryan. After due discutssion and consideration of all applicants Trustee Holten recommended HiXdihg Dahl, and moved t'mt he be-appointed VilZage Police Officer for EL probationary period of six (6) months at a salary of $110.00 per month, the raotion wm seconded mort!, and the vote twt3 upon the question of the adloption of the motion, Wherein them were four ayea and no nqye and so the motion imer deelacsed duly adopted. this point Trustee Hofton advised that Trustee I)resc~$L had advised before leaving the Village, that he favored Mr D&1. The matter of the Jones petitieri for redzoning a part of the Jones farm located to the North- of Highway #169 and tho old Men Praris Road, from the Open Develo-grpent District to Community Store District, knadvertently overlooked at the fast meeting, next came before the Council. After discussion it vas moved by Moore, that poated notice be given for hearing on the petition on Idarch 8, 1937, meeting, aoconded 'by Willson and carried. After discuasion by the CowciJ. on the mattes of petition to vacate that part 09 Bridge Street lying West of Browndale Avenue, the Recorder ~~gge~ted t'he-IsdvisabiZity of Vilfage Attorney Strong td;int;f up certain details with mgineer Albert Graber, whereupan it vas moved by Villson, that VZilage Attorney Strong be authorized to ongage the services of Albert Graber, &gin@er, in connection aft11 %he vacation of' a part of Bridge Street, as Mr Strong mEght see fit, seconded by Holten and carried.
