Kinutes of the regular meeting of the Council held on November 13, 193g9 as well as the adjourned portion of the same meeting held on November 20, 1939, vrere read, On motion 7iVillson, they be approved as read, seconded by Holten and carried. Trustee Holten, to whom the matter had been rer"erred, presented for the C,ouncil's consideration a red&ft of the proposed con- tract betmen the City of Ninneapolis and the Village of hdina, concerning sanitary sewers and sewage disposal. After discussion it was considered satisfactory for Hr Howard to resubmit to the City of kJli&sapolis. Recommenda%.%ons of the Lighting Committee by President Sharpe, Chairman, for additional Street lighting and acceptame ofthe new Street Lighting Contract as submitted by the Errlfnneapolis 'General dlectric Company, next came before the Councilo After study and discussion, it was found that 9 additional street lights were recommended to be installed in the outlying districts and that %hk recommendations of the Companyfs Yngineering department for increasing the candlepower in the ornamntsl standards without additional cast, was adviseable ?Wereupon it was movsd by Irgens, that the recommendations of the Lighting Cormittee be concurred in and that the President and Recorder be authorized and empowered. to sign the necessauy contract with the Minneapolis GQneral Ellectric Company on behalf of the Village of Edina, seconded by BIoore and carried. %e Village pay roll advances having Men carefully noted, it was moved by IrQens that they be duly allowed and ordered paid, seconded by Yillson and carried. Pay roll and miscellaneous items of Joint Sewex? District No, 1 . were also carefully studied and found correct vhereupon Trustee Holten momd, they be duly allowed and ordered paid, seconded by Xoore and carried. Nr &?ling Nostue appeared before the Council concerning the matter of grade of Ridge Road and advised that certain portions of the new grade orere not satisfactory. After discussion the matter vas left with Chairman Yfi,llsan to arrange with Xngineer Bradley and interested property owners, for a satisfactory grade of the road, The matter of the Axel Larson dump on Hiaway 169 Yast of the Oilnger Road, which had been on fire and resisted attempts to be was discussed at length. referred to the Village Attorney to advise I& Larson to put out the fire and to close the dump, ' extinguished and was considered .otherwitje a neighborhood nuisance After discussion the matter was Trustee Holten, offered the following resolution and moved its adopt ion: owner of all the land adjoining and abutting upon eac& aide of the street hereinafter tlscsibed, having been filed with the Village '- Council of %he Village of Edina, Hennepin County, Minnesota, petit- ioning for the vacation of South Bend Avenue, in South Bend Addition in said Village; an4, W€BP&AS8 the petition of Adath Yeshurun Cemetery Association, I VmREAS, due posted and published notice of the hearing upon said petition having been given as provided by shatute; and, WF3M, at the meeting of the Village Council designated in said Notice, having been held and the said petition duly con- sidered, and it being deemd for the public..interest that said street be vacated; NOW, TH%;F&FOR&, Bfi; IT RZSOLVZD, That that certain street in the Village of Edina, located in South Eend Addition, in ssbd Village, known and dedicated as South @nd Ayenue, and runniq from the East line of France Avenue, to the east line of said South Eend Addition, be and the same hereby is vacated.
