HomeMy WebLinkAbout19420420_REGULAR60 Elinutes of the recessed portion of the regular April 13, 1942, meeting of the Council of the Pillage of Edina, duly held in Grange Ehll on April 20, 1942, at 8:OO oFclock P. E. The meeting mas called to order by President Sharpe, the roll called, and all members of tho Council Bere present. Eessrs. Lang and Rougland, Architects and Engineers, submitted 2 smaller design contained approximately 72,000 cubic feet and was estimated to cost zbout $309000. The larger plan contained approximately 121,000 cubic feet with estimated cost at &53,000. After much study and discussion of the subject Eoore moved that Lang and Rougland be duly appointed as architects for Edina Village Hall and that the smaller plan of the two designs submitted be accepted in general with certain modefications to be made in width, library room and Council Chamber, and that preliminary I plans be prepared for purpose of submitting them ta WA and EEA for approval, seconded Billson and carried unaminously. 8 studies in Village Halls for the Council's consideration. The E&. Elmer Williams, of the investment firm of Allison 6 Billiams, appeared before the Council with letter dated €Wch 24, 1942, by I&. Oscar Gaarden, President of the Country Club District Service Company, which granted Eessrs Allison and Villiams an option to zvork up a deal whereby the Village might purchase any interest held by Er. Gaarden in the Vater Company. President Sharpe stated he. thought it well to listen to Hr, Billizms proposition which was explained in detail and Er,, Williuns thanked far his time and effort. Do further business to come before the Council, motion to adjourn carried at 11:OO P. E. \ Village Recorder
