the regular July 13, 1942, meeting
of the Council of the Village of
Edina, duly held in Grange Hall at
8 $00 o tclock Pa PI. on July 15 , 1942.
. The meeting was called to order by President Sharpe, the Pall called and all members of the Comcilvere present.
The matter of increases in pay of Village emploEees first came before thk meeting with Chairman Gebo reporting on the pay of police officers in surrounding municipalities, After consider-
able discussion on various systems and methods of pensions and/ or old age pensions Trustee Gebo moved that an increase in wages
of $lO,OO be granted each of the Village Police Officers beginning
as of August lst, 1942, not to be considered as a general ordance in salary as the Council is studying the possibility of same retirement or old age pension system and may use all or part
of the advance to supDlement a Village contribution, seconded by
Recorder Lfoare and carried unaminously.
Chairman Zillson reported on salaries paid Road and Bridge norkman by neighboring towns and Villages and considerable discussion vas had, vhereupon Recorder XIoore moved that the
salaries of the regular Road and Bridge crew be increased $10
per month, beginning as of August lo 1942, not to be considered
as a general advance in salary as the Council is studying the possibility of some retirement or Old Age pension system and may
use all or part of this adyance to supplement a Village contri-
bution, seconded by Villson and carried.
Trustee Fillson moved that the hourly rate of pay for road vclrk
be set at 558 per hour, beginning as of August 1, 1942, seconded
E'oore and carried.
Vi13son moved that the pay of Ea Eerfeld be set at 65# per how
beginning as of August 1, 1942, secanded I'lyatt and carried.
Trustee Villson moved that E,, Eerfeld he charged $20 per mon-&kr
for use of dvellirtg an Tool House site beginning as of August
1, 1942, seconded Vyatt and carried.
Trustee Villson moved that LT. PSerfeld be paid the sum of 425
per month beginning as of August l9 1942, as caretaker, matchman
and ansnering night telephone calls including those of the fire
department, 2nd Wyatt and carried.
Xo further business to come before the meeting the President
declared the meeting recessed, subject to the call of the President a
