EDINA VILLAGE COUNCIL HELD IN VILLAGE
HALL AT 8 P.M. XARCB 22, 1943
Presideit Sharpe called the meeting to order and dl meBbers of
the coun,ciL were present.
Minutes of the regular council meeting of March 8, 1943, were
read and approved..
. A delegation of residents Pn the vicinity of Russell and Benton avenues to object to the keeping of pigs by Stanley Lee in that . vicinity. Members of the delegation cornplain'ed condition of the
pig pen constituted and health menace and odors conseituted a
nuisance. They referred to a village ordinance adopted July LO,
1939, prohibiting the keeptng of pigs within 500 feet of
platted property. Dr. Campbell, village health officer, pointed
out he had inspected the Lee property last summer and h& not found mnditions which would justify his ruling the pigs were a
menace to health.

regulate such conditions other than by passing ordinances and
that residents of the neighborhood should seek relief by ffling
a nuisance complaint against Lee in justice court.
Trustee Willson moved approval and pawent of the following

TmsteeGebo moved that Engineer Smith be authorized to. determine proper charges for such service; seconded by Hawthorne and cmried.
T-rustee Gebo reported receipt of a donation of $100 from the volunteer fire department for civillan defense and suggested the council accept the donation.
There being no further business to come before the council, President Sharpe declared the meeting adjourned at 11:30 pemo

Trustee Gkbo moved that a-public heaping for the purpose of considering

and in accdrdance with the cornpanyrs franchise be set for 8.p..m.,

Trustee Vyatt reported William H, Zfegler Co, had offered $1,850.00
for purchase of various items of used construction equlpment owned by the village. sell the equipment for not less than $2,000.00, seconded by W5llson
and carried.
