HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-05 Amending Section 1235 ORDINANCE NO. 2006-5 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1235 OF THE CITY CODE TO ALLOW ISSUANCE OF TEMPORARY PARKING PERMITS IN MUNICIPAL PARKING FACILITIES The City Council of the City of Edina ordains: Section 1. The last sentence of Subsection 1235.02 of the City Code is amended to read as follows: "Provided, however, no overnight parking shall be allowed unless the vehicle displays a permit issued pursuant to Subd. 4 of Subsection 1245.03." Section 2. The heading for Subsection 1235.03 of the City Code is amended to read as follows: "1235.03 50th and France Permits" Section 3. Subsection 1235.03 of the City Code is amended by adding a new Subd. 4 as follows: "Subd. 4 Temporary Permits. Temporary permits may be issued by the Manager or his designee to individuals who are guests or visitors of the occupants of residential dwellings located in the 50' and France Commercial Area. Such temporary permits shall not be issued for more than 14 days per vehicle and shall not be transferable to another vehicle. An application for a temporary permit shall be accompanied by the fee as set forth in Section 185 of this Code. Holders of temporary permits may park in excess of the time limits during business hours and may park between the hours of 1 AM and 6 AM, but only in locations in municipal parking facilities as shall be designated by the Manager. Locations designated by the Manager shall be those that are least convenient for patrons of businesses located in the 50' and France Commercial Area. The temporary permit shall be displayed in the vehicle in the manner prescribed by the Manager." Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage and publication.
