AN ORDINANCE DETACHING FROM THE VILLAGE OF
EDINA CERTAIN LAND ABUTTING ON THE VILLAGE
OF EDINA AND THE CITY OF HOPKINS
THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF EDINA ORDAINS:
Section 1. This Council has received and considered the petition of the
City of Hopkins and Superior Separator Company that this Council detach from the
Village, pursuant to the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 1957, Section 413.137,
the following described parcels of land owned by said petitioners:
Commencing at the Northwest corner of Section 29, Township 117,
Range 21; thence South along the West line of said Section, 74
feet to the Southerly line of the abandoned right of way of the
Minneapolis and St. Paul Suburban Railway; thence Easterly along
the Southerly line of said right of way to its intersection with the
West line of Gunnar Johnson's Second Rearrangement, Rolling Green;
thence North along the West line of said Rearrangement and its
extension to the North line of said Section 29; thence West along
said North line to the point of beginning.
That part of the Northwest Quarter of Section 30, Township 117,
Range 21, and of Blocks 7 and 8 in West Minneapolis Heights
described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of
said Section 30; thence East along the North line of said
Section to its intersection with the East line of Jefferson
Avenue in West Minneapolis Heights extended North; thence
South along said East line and its extension to a point in
the West line of Lot 26, Block 6 West Minneapolis Heights,
distant 30 feet North of the Southwest corner thereof; thence
Westerly on a line 30 feet North of and parallel with the
South lines of Lots 1 and 26, Block 7, and Lots 1 and 26,
Block 8, and the extensions of said lines in West Minneapolis
Heights to the West line of said Section 30; thence North
along said West line to the point of beginning.
Section 2. Upon consideration of said petition and after hearing the views
of all persons interested, and being fully advised in the premises, the Council
does hereby find, determine and declare that the above-described land abuts on
the Village of Edina and on the City of Hopkins, that the detachment of such
land from the Village of Edina and its annexation to the City of Hopkins will
be for the benefit of the Village of Edina and for the benefit of such land,
and that said petition is in all respects correct and sufficient and complies
with the provisions of said statute.
Section 3. It is hereby ordered that the land described in Section 1
hereof shall be and it is hereby detached from the Village of Edina.
Section 4. The Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file
one certified copy of this Ordinance with the County Auditor of Hennepin
County, Minnesota, and another certified copy of this Ordinance in the office
of the Secretary of State of the State of Minnesota.
