Blr. Richard 14, Day, 3511 W. 55th Street, applied for permit to rebuild garage to his
East lot line, in non-conformance with Village Zoning Ordinance. E4r. Day explained
that he had purchased his hime, and attached garage,. some two or three years ago,
with the garage built to the lot line; and that he was merely rebuilding it.
Inspector Jloehler recommended against the issuance of rebuilding permit. Er. Day
stated that, in case permit was not issued he had the choice of building his garage
ahead of his house, or putting it behind his house with a very narrow driveway leading -
to it. After considerable deliveration by the Council, Utley moved thabpermit for
rebuilding of garage be granted. Suggestion
was made to Kr, Day that he negotiate with owner of vacant lot to the East, for pur-
chase of an extra five feet, in order that he might .have the reruired side yard.
